    Folks:

I have a 1988 4Runner and I want to replace the fuel sending unit. I have the 1988 repair manual, but can't find the instructions in the manual. Can anyone guide me as to where in the manual I can find the instructions? I've found instructions on how to replace the fuel pump, but not the fuel sending unit.

    I'd appreciate any guidance.

    Thanks.

FWIW, I replaced my fuel sending unit a few months back and it fixed the very common fuel gauge issue. Def a recommended fix.

Looking to replace my sending unit as well, did you also replace your fuel pump? If so can you share where you purchased the parts?

my fuel gauge was failing so I had the dash cluster replaced but the fuel needle continues to fluctuate so I think it’s the sending unit that’s bad.
