I am new to the Toyota family. Currently in the process of purchasing a 2021 4runner trd pro. My only concern is the roof rack height. From my research, some say its 79.5 inches some say its 77 inches. Anyone with one know exact height? Need to know due to garage at work being 6ft 9inches or 81 inches total. I love the look and don't want to remove it, however if need be I will. My current JL Rubicon is about 74inches total in height and from the looks of it in the same garage has about 5-6 inches left until it touches the ceiling of garage.

For those who did remove the rack, any guide to do it? thanks

It's 78 inches on my stock 2021 Pro. I laid a 2x4 across the highest points of the rack on flat ground, and that was the distance from ground to bottom of board.

There are several detailed threads on removing the rack on the forums.

If 78 inches I should be good in multistory carpark garage I park in at work. My first time in that garage I will deflate my tires in case and go in slowly to be careful. Appreciate the help, hope I will love the 4runner. Never even drove one.

No problem. Congrats on the new ride. Mine is my first 4Runner too, and after 5,000 miles I'm still loving it. FWIW, I've had mine in several parking garages and no problems yet.

Don't think you'll need to deflate, but I guess better safe than sorry lol. You'll love it. This was also my first and I walk in the garage a few times in the day just to stare at it;)

If you remove the rack. Google is your friend. I removed mine and there a lot of threads on this. Do not rush to turn out the torx bolts. I think the Pro looks better without the roof rack. I no longer have my AG Pro. I traded it in on a LunaRock tundra Pro. But I still visit the forum site.

This won't help, but mine barely fit in my parents garage. There would have been no way if I had it lifted.

Yea mine is close too. It's also the reason why I only did a 1" lift on the front. However, I just recently purchased a kit to remove the top bar on the rack, so that should give me more clearance for a 2/1 lift.

No link, but I have his email. There was a post by another member who just completed the install just recently. I emailed him (Tom) and he was very helpful. Should be arriving tomorrow. I believe Tom is also a member here.
