I got a 87 4Runner SR5. Studders in first and second sometimes. Only for a little while. If you get the RPMs up it quits. I got it with all the Vacuum lines deleted. It has the delete kit. When I first bought the truck it would only run when idling at 2500. Fixed that problem but still have the problem with it running rough.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
You mean that the idle was set to 2500 when you bought it??
Idle on our trucks is 800, give or take. If it won't adjust to that, it could be the idle adjust screw's o-ring, or the TPS adjustment. It could also be the IACV, the Idle Auxiliary Control Valve. Make sure the Cold Start Injector is spraying properly, and shutting down on time. Ohm the CSI Timing sensor. It's right out in front of the engine, easy to get to.

IF, and this is a joke, it's a big IF (see??) :D, you can get the idle adjusted correctly, you need to check the timing, to make sure it's correct. It should be 5° BTDC with T1 and E1 jumpered in the test connector. IF you can get it set correctly, the recheck the idle speed. Stop the truck, pull the jumper, fire it back up, check the idle RPM one more time, and then check the timing. It should be 12° BTDC without the jumper in.
Only adjust the timing with the jumper in.

At worst, if you do nothing else, give it a tune up. Plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. You should also flush the coolant, and refill it. Only use the Toyota Red coolant, and if necessary, distilled water to get a 50/50 mix. You'll need about a gallon of each.
Change the oil and filter, too. Use a Toyota filter. They're one of the best on the market. I personally use Castrol Syntec 10W-30 oil in mine, and it seems to work quite well.

Get an FSM. You can download a PDF version off the YotaTech forums, or buy one off e-bay. Being a cheap SOB that I am, I downloaded it and just print what I need.

I hope this is some small help.

Thanks for the information. Timing looks correct and did a tune up not to long ago. The guy that had If before me deleted a lot stuff as well I’m gonna be running back through all of it and trying to get it back to stock. I had a buddy with a similar problem on a different vehicle and ended up being the ignition coil pack. Was kinda leaning towards that as well on mine.
