What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Look in the fuse box under the hood. With your volt meter you could test which fuses have ignition-switched power. Then use a fuse tap to get a wire out to your light bar. You could find a place to drill a hole in the box base to sneak the wire out and still close the lid. Seal the hole well with some adhesive to keep it water tight.

Likely candidate fuses to tap:
A/C COMP, DEICER, DEF, MIR HTR.

 

You could possibly tap off of the DRLs. Have the LED strips get power from the battery, use a relay with power from the DRL acting only as the on/off switch.

I’m installing raptor lights, it and cable harness all arrived yesterday. I am also installing a switch into one of the blank spots available in dash, I want that capability. But for you if no switch follow taco twanz in this vid. Start watching before 6 minute mark. It will give you a good idea what to do in your case. Then go from there I guess. Now I am waiting for my Relation Race Wheels to get here as I have been waiting 2 months for my wheels. The stock sized tires look embarrassing with this much of a lift (imho).

 

I was there yesterday, made an appointment and was surprisingly in and out in 15 minutes. They were packed, too.

I have lights installed and lights cables run into engine bay. Still working on harness with relay and switch, switch to run to dash, of course. But that harness requires some simple mods to integrate with the lights cable and on other end to integrate with fuse box under dash, and I’ll do all that next and it’ll be done. Really it’s all pretty easy.

 

My dealership called and they have the recall fuel pump for our 2019 SR5 Premium. I am taking it in next week. They say to have no more than a quarter tank of gas and the fix takes 5 hours. Glad to be done with this recall deal.

 

Took them less then 3hrs to do mine.

 

5 to do mine. Now I'm hearing about some people with replacement pumps having problems. Great, just friggin' great.

 

Same issue with the replacements or something else?

 

Custom low height drawers to keep some cargo space. Removable drawer covers act as tables for tailgating, etc. Custom built tilt fridge slide.

All done with the Raptor lights job, finished this afternoon. Came out as planned. This was my first mod for the new Pro. If interested, in this video is the procedure I followed to also utilize a switch in the dash.

Oh nice. So what are your impressions so far? I want to do a CAI. Not sure who’s.

 

Took the 4Runner out on its first trail run in North Carolina. Gotta put the arb rear locker to use. Don’t think I needed it but I had it so why not. Definitely different experience than off-roading in Arizona. Both have benefits and I can’t help but miss the jaw dropping views in Arizona. Hoping to find some here in North Carolina. Might have to head to the smoky mountains for the views.

So I had my 10K service done today and I was walking the lot and spotted this......

 

Should have seen the salesman's face when he walked up and said can I help you and my reply was your dealership is smoking crack and using a cactus to fuck someone sideways and I am ashamed that I bought a vehicle here .....

They must have better crack there than here
