Hey guys, need some urgent help. New to me 2000 limited. Everything was great since I bought it yesterday. Today I changed out the map lights. I blew a 25a fuse. Found that under hood and swapped it out. I have interior lights now but the truck won’t start. It cranks but won’t turn over. Have I blown another fuse? They all look ok but they’re old. No idea which fuse, under hood or inside that runs starting.

I figured it out. Swapped fuses all around until I found the culprit. It didn’t look blown. Changed every fuse in the truck.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
The MK-I eyeball isn't really a good fuse checker. It's good for a lot of things, well mine WERE, anywho.

Best to use a multimeter, I usually set mine on continuity to check fuses. Doesn't take but a second to pull a fuse out, and touch the meter leads to the prongs that it plugs in with. Even if you're touching the prongs, like to hold the meter leads onto them, it'll only read through the fuse. The continuity setting is a very sensitive setting, and won't read back through your body to give you a fishy reading. It'll either beep, fuse is good, or not beep, fuse is bad. Higher ohm settings will read back through your body. Won't hurt you any, just give a fishy reading.

Any doubt, use a meter. Automotive fuses even have open spots on top to put the leads on to check the fuses without pulling them. Just be careful you don't read through the circuit the fuse is in, and get a bogus reading. Best to pull the fuse out to be safe.

    Have fun!

Never blown a fuse in my 2005 4runner with 150,000 miles. Amazing
