I'm new to this site. I own a 2012 4Runner 2wd that I bought with low milage as certified pre owned in 2014. I just had some kyb struts installed all the way around. Front were the loaded struts. My installer found that the front original ones had "levelers" on them, which I never knew. When they installed the kyb, it was riding much higher than the rear, & much more than the normal offset you get with new struts. They got zero help from kyb, so took them off & removed the levelers. It was still higher but not as bad. They aligned it and told me to drive it for a week or so to see if it levels out & they would recheck. They did not make me pay yet. I got it home and started having issues when I put it in reverse and Front end cambered inwards. I called my shop and they sent a tow truck. Its the weekend so I have to wait until Monday. My question is could the removal of the levelers be the issue or maybe something else just popped loose?
I've put 155k miles on it and this is my very first issue.
    Help...

Welcome to the forum. I'm not familiar with how 2WD 4Runners are set up in the front, but something is definitely out of whack if the tires are going inward at the top. Is this installer someone you've used before and trust? It seems to appear they are not familiar with your truck. This shouldn't have been that hard of a job to get done right.

Most definitely trusted service guy. Used for years for all our vehicles. First time issue like this. They just can't get kyb to return emails. He made sure vin matched part #s. I'm just wondering if it had something to do with the levelers being removed or just another issue when they re aligned it, so I was hoping someone had some insight while I wait until they open on Monday.

Removing a spacer shouldn't have this sort of effect.

First place I would check are the cam adjusters on your lower control arms.

Then I would check all bushings on your lower and upper control arms.

Always best to find a shop specializing in off-road vehicles, mainly in Toyota & Lexus.
Sadly, my first go around went south....shop was absolutely great with off road stuff just not familiar with Toyota at all! To say the least my rig was messed up. Pretty bad when your tire shop has to fix the mess the off-road shop created just to get tires on.... :(
Thankfully, I learned a lesson and was super blessed to have a superb offroad shop and team that keeps my rig & me happy :)

Looks like you nailed it. Appears one of the cam adjusters(bolt as they called it) came out. They had to order from Toyota. Should be in tomorrow. I hope this solves it.
Thanks to all that gave the helpful tips.
