Does anyone know of a good all in 1 off road recovery kit...? One that isn't centered around a winch since I don't have one installed. Just general mud/sand/snow recovery I guess.

Kinetic energy rope and a couple soft shackles would probably be the safest and most versatile. If that's not to your liking, a 30' strap and a couple shackles.

^Traction boards should be at the top of the list.

Without a winch or traction boards, you will likely be reliant on a secondary vehicle capable of pulling you out with kinetic rope, snatch strap or winch. Front and rear recovery points are a must for both vehicles.

I think you're best off piecing together your own kit. Depending on the terrain and whether you're going alone or with others will dictate which gear is most effective.

Good tires and self discipline would be primary.

Recovery gear specific, but not "all in one" - you gotta cobble it together:

I would first buy traction boards or folding traction boards (Gotreds) as that will probably be the most efficient means of self extraction from a lightly stuck mud- snow- sand scenario and could be all you need.

Beyond that, a strap, a means to attach the strap to 2 vehicles, a shovel, some emergency rations of water, an air compressor and plug kit, and a battery jumper.... because recovery doesn't only include getting stuck by inclement trail conditions.

That's all I carry (that's not winch related).

    I recently put together:

    Actiontrax traction boards
    Shovel
    Bubba Rope kinetic recovery rope.
Soft shackle. (I probably need to get a second.)
    Factor 55 hitch link.

    Also OP
If you use the magnifying glass search function n type RECOVERY EQUIPMENT there’s another thread from recent that a bunch of people listed there stuff

look for the pic with the white truck n green bridle

like others have said, there’s more to it than just getting your truck out...gotta take care of yourself first with somewhat survival stuff, who knows how long you’ll be in a jam
I started camping n thru hiking pretty young so I’m set in that regards but there are certain things I never leave home without

Definitely piece your own pack together

Have to laugh at my suggestion because when I think about recovery I'm not thinking about saving myself from a pickle(that responsibility, is a given). I'm thinking about saving(recovering) the other guy, or visa versa. Thus my suggestion. There's a reason for thinking that way and it goes back to my upbringing and time in the military. I'll leave it at that.
