So, I bought an extra key fob for my sons 4runner & followed the
directions to program it. It worked with no problem, but now the original
key fob does not work & it had to be reprogrammed. Then the other one would not work...
So, is there a way to sync the two fobs so that they both work at the same time?

Thanks & hope I explained that right.

    Hey hey mate,

Yes, unfortunately, when you go through a programme for the fobs, you have to do all of them at once, in the same session. Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Sean

Yes, most of the programming instructions you see on the web clear out all fobs and add them back in. You do them all at once.

However, there is a slight alternative programming dance for just adding a fob (note 4c):

https://northcoastkeyless.com/2002-...d UNLOCK,successful programming of the remote.

    1. Prepare Vehicle
With the key OUT of the Ignition, OPEN and UNLOCK the Driver’s door.

    2. Enter Programming Mode – Step 1
INSERT key into Ignition (Do NOT turn it) and REMOVE key.

    3. Enter Programming Mode – Step 2
PERFORM the following steps WITHIN 40 seconds:

      a. Using the power lock switch on the driver’s door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. Use an even pace and try to go about one cycle per second (1 Cycle = 1 lock and 1 unlock).

      b. CLOSE then OPEN Driver’s door.

    4. Enter Programming Mode – Step 3
PERFORM the following steps WITHIN 40 seconds:

      a. Using the power lock switch on the driver’s door, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles starting with lock. Use an even pace and try to go about one cycle per second (1 Cycle = 1 lock and 1 unlock).

      b. INSERT key into Ignition.

      c. TURN ignition to ON (Do NOT Start) then back to OFF.
      – Do this ONCE to retain existing remotes programmed.
      – Do this TWICE to ERASE all existing remotes programmed and ADD NEW remote.
      – Do this THREE times to CHECK how many remotes are programmed to the vehicle.
      – Do this FIVE times to ERASE all existing remotes programmed.

      d. REMOVE key from Ignition.

    5. Enter Programming Mode – Step 4
WITHIN 3 seconds the Power Door Locks should cycle LOCK/UNLOCK to signal successful entry into Programming Mode.

    6. Program Remote
PERFORM the following steps WITHIN 40 seconds:

      a. PRESS the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the remote simultaneously for 1 second.

      b. PRESS and HOLD the LOCK button for 2 seconds. The Door Locks will cycle LOCK/UNLOCK to indicate successful programming of the remote.

    7. Program Additional Remotes
REPEAT Steps 6a and 6b for any additional remotes to be programmed.

    8. EXIT Programming Mode
CLOSE Driver’s Door to EXIT Programming Mode.

    9. Test Remotes
TEST all remotes. Programming is complete.

Did it! Would buy you a cold one if you lived a little closer.
It would not work with 2 fobs at once for me. So, I programmed one
& then did the second one with the original remote out of range.

Love this site, everybody keep up the good work!:oldglory:
