Ordered a glove box organizer and cargo net for my go bag/first aid bag/backpack. Read 100 or so posts on best skid plate to buy and leaning toward RCI. I also want LFD Off-road rails so I need to dig up a couple more jars in the back yard. My Toyota battery is coming up on 6 years old so might just replace that before I head out Friday for a 3 day camp out. My trail has the tray so it’s my first time sleeping in it. None of my previous 4r’s had one.

 

Not my 4Runner but my wife’s new Highlander. Just though it was cool. We’ve had it a week and I just noticed it.

 

I tried an extended fuse box cover from MESO for a while. It worked OK but I found the latching tabs a little too hard to operate to get it off.
I then tried this one from a guy on the other forum who 3D prints them. He tweaked his design of the tabs based on my comments and now it works great for me.

He sells them on his Etsy store where they always sell out of the pre-2020 version and the 20+. Try PMing him there or on on the forum to have him print one to order.

 

Removed PAC unit and replaced with maestro RR to enable vehicle info

One more step closer to slider install. Took 45 minutes and removed the "predator steps" (last time i bash my shin or head on them) and chased all the threads in the frame. Really like the way it looks without them.

Seriously considering Hefty for my 4Runner. I had a conventional 3/16” plate bumper on my Tacoma and while the quality and sturdiness were amazing it also added about 200lbs of front end weight with a winch and synthetic line. The aluminum Hefty is really appealing for the weight savings alone but it seems really well built and thought out as well.

About 350 lbs.

 

The aluminum skids are covered with HDPE plastic

 

Dude I'm not sure what kind of offroading, wheeling or rock crawling you do but even if you don't...have your wife look at RSG sliders. They have been amazing and not to mention super solid!

Oh you guys have the fancy stuff...mine is 2017 so none of that to worry about but regardless sliders or skids shouldn't interfere with that. You're likely going to encounter any issues if any at all when you talk front, rear bumpers and those things.
