I just got my 4runner and Its a Limited 1998, I like the looks of the SR5s with the no trim on the doors and small flares but the limited is a little too much for me. I already have the the fronts and the backs off but I don't have the sides off of the doors. If anyone else has done this what kind of tools did you use/ how did you get the side trim off of the doors?

Pretty sure, just remove the inside door panels and unbolt them from the inside.

Tons of clips hold the panels onto the vehicle; you'll have a lot of holes once removed.

You could say that about every thread but that wouldn't exactly build much of a community

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
So you'd end up with a holey truck? :D

Would I be able to remove them from the outside or would I have to go through the inside of the car and behind the door panel?

What did you use to plug the holes? have you repainted or put different trim on?

My 99 Limited door cladding was held on with nylon clips that shattered when I pulled them off. Guess they were a little rotten after 20+ years!
