    Aloha,
    New member.. 2020 sr5 premium, 3"front / 2 "rear Dobinson's (comfort ride). Dobinson's uca's, 17x8.5(-10 offset), 275/70/17 Falken wild peak at3w...

Can't understand why does my t4r still have the "Toyota lean"(1/2") even after I installed a .5" spacer on the front driver side coil and a 1/2" spacer on the rear driver side coil. Do you think if I take off the 1/2" spacer from the driver rear, it'll level out ?? Anyone had/have the same problem ??? Driving my ocd crazy.

    thank you..

    Welcome to the forum!

Usually spacers solve the lean, so that's odd.

Are those Dobinsons adjustable? If so, you could try using preload to even it out, and get rid of the front spacer.

Dobisons seem really pretty notorious for having different measurements post lift. I’d measure all 4 corners first before doing anything and figuring out exactly how different all measurements are.

What was it like without the spacers? What spacers are you using?

The factory 4Runner has a slightly longer FL spring, but the rears are the same. I wouldn't personally run a rear spacer.

My 4Runner had a 1/8" lean when new. The factory springs are a few mm longer there - maybe 1/8". 1/8" spring length translates to ~2/8" lift. 1/8" + 2/8" = 3/8". So I'm saying that a stock 4Runner on same springs leans roughly 3/8" or as you said 1/2". How could yours lean like that even with spacers installed? I think something is installed incorrectly. With aftermarket stiffer springs, I'd expect the lean to be even less.

No offense to anyone in particular, but I'm starting to wonder if people think they have more lean than they do because of measurement variances. Did you use a long box level to check the ground before you measured your 4Runner? Did you use a plumb line and straight edge to measure so that angle doesn't come into play? How did you verify that you used EXACTLY the same spot on each fender - directly above the center of the wheel below. etc. etc. Slapping a tape measure up against the bitch and leaning over is too inaccurate to judge 1/2" variances.

Not sure what's the difference but mine seem to be leveled with OME suspension. Measurements section at 6:06 mark on the video.

How does a 3un lift feel? Someone was selling a 3” inch lift kit and I wanted to know how the ride is? Thank you

The suspension "feel" depends on so much more than just the lift height. You'll need to be more specific. Which springs? Which shocks?

Does the SR5 have the KDSS? I can't remember but I've talked to a few people that have had the leans with theirs due to the lift being higher than the KDSS system will allow and limits the sway bar on the fixed side (passenger). They now make spacers for the sway bar disconnect to help alieve the leans.

KDSS is only available on the off-road. And, I still don't get how it could cause a lean unless people are tampering with it. The pistons on the driver's side cannot both be extended at the same time unless something is wrong with the system.

It had the "Toyota lean" from factory.. It was 1/2" difference from the get go. My shop installed the 1/4" Robinson spacer on the front drivers side coils and a 1/2" spacer on the rear drivers side coil.. My t4r still leans 1/2" towards the drivers side... I'm wondering if I remove the 1/2" rear driver side coil, my t4r will be leveled... Maybe too much compensation (physics) ???? Idk...

We measured at the shop and my home..... Same 1/2" difference when measured up against the "BITCH" !!! From the factory the "BITCH" had a 1/2" lean towards the drivers side.........

If you were to remove the rear spacer, it would drop it down, but I think by the way you're describing it, that would increase the lean, right? The driver's side is 1/2" lower than the passenger side?

This is the way I leveled my 18 4runner and got rid of the front end lean .
Added front Bilstein 5100 set at 2nd notch from the bottom, then added a 3/8" spacer on the driver side and 1/4" spacer on the passenger side.
Left me a 1/2" rake and removed the lean. I am running stock size tires.

Don’t know if it’s manufacture related or all. I’ve got eibach all around and I measured at the gas pump about empty. Runner never moved, no one in it and when I filled the tank, remeasured and was exactly the same.
For the sake of checking I measured bottom of rim to fender for accuracy

I have installed 3" front 2" back fox suspension with Icon UCA and springs. Before installation, it had lean which is inside spec. (SPEC IS NO MORE THAN 3/4"). After suspension installation, I have adjusted KDSS, then installed 1" shim on the passenger side rear. Now my 4 runner has no more lean. leveled. I am very satisfied.

There's a lean? I suppose maybe, I measured ground to frame on both sides and got 1/4" difference from side to side in the level garage. Then I rocked it a bit and let the suspension settle and it was almost level side to side. Dunno...

Most Toyota trucks have the same issue due to the driver, battery and gas tank being on the same side. Look at a 4runner PRO front suspension, the driver shock is on a notch higher then the passenger side, this is to adjust for the lean.

^ that right there proves they know about the lean. Sad part is on my old pro the front had zero lean but rear had 3/4"

I’ve had my 4Runner since new, in late 2017. Stock suspension. Never checked the lean until after reading this thread. Full tank of gas. All tires at 34 PSI. The driver side, front and rear, are each 0.25 inches high. That seems about right to me. I imagine with a driver in the seat and a moderate cargo load in back it would level out.

Are all these lean measurements in the thread that are being made done with some standard test conditions?
Like a certain amount of gas in the tank, tire pressure, driver in the seat, passenger in the seat, certain weight of cargo load?

Is the amount of lean you’re experiencing a concern for on/off road handling, or just for optics?

2014 Trail non KDSS, 100k miles. Stock springs, Bilstein 5100s front and rear, fronts set to .85". 265/70/17 LR-C KO2s at 40psi.

With a half a tank of gas and otherwise totally empty I have 3/8" lean front and rear low to the driver's side.

I previously had a 2014 Trail with KDSS and totally stock it had a 7/8" passenger side lean which Toyota deemed within spec.

    Some do, some don't.

I went to the dealer and measured about 10 brand new 4runners a couple of years ago and almost all of them had a 1/2" rear lean. Some had a little more, some had a little less, and it was among 4x4 and 4x2 models as well. They just don't all sit the same from the factory.
