Hi guys! I'm new to 4runner. Recently purchased mine and wanted to do some lifts. I am planning to do some overlanding this year with friends. Wanted to put some 33's on my wheels. I have 2021 TRD ORP all stocks, and my questions are:

    1. Do I need a control arm too if I install lift kits? (which control arm is suggested for this FOX lift kits?)
    2. Does it still rub on the car with the 33 tires on it? Planning to keep the TRD matte black wheels. Not sure wc specific 33 tire size yet (285,70) or (295,70)

If you have any suggestion please feel free to tell me.
People with fox shocks feel free to tell me what you think about your lift kits.

Looking forward to hear back from you guys. Help a brother here! :annoyed:

U don't need UCA so to speak but I would. Best upgrade I did. Especially if going with 33s. Helps u adjust caster to get better tire clearance. get SPCs and call it good. The ball joints on SPC are amazingly huge. Trust me. Check out @HeadStrong Off-Road. They got best prices I seen on SPC had them on 5 trucks so far and all my friends got them after me. All love them

Are your shocks extended travel or standard travel? If extended, you’ll want UCA’s. If you’re lifting 3”, you’ll want UCA’s. You may or may not rub, just expect it with 33’s, especially if you go 295’s. I had to do BMC, and other wheel well work along with having my caster adjusted for the tire to clear everything in the wheel well.

you’ll need to be specific what type of fox lift you got, they have different models.
There’s lots of threads on here on how to fit 33’s or lifting in general and if UCA’s are needed. Spend some time reading and researching.

Yeah I did some research these are the specs that I have ordered:
    Front Fox Shocks 2.5 (883-02-130)
    Rear Fox (883-24-004)
I finally decided to go with Camburg's UCA and tried to call them the details. So they got me hook up with there product.

My question now is does it still rub after the installation? My plan is to put (285,75,17) Tires on it.
I also don't know if after installing does that do the lift already? it says 0-3" but I don't know which is better for overlanding and also for road driving.
If you could help me with these I love to hear from you guys.

Thank you for your help and really appreciate it!

Do u have after market rims? I like the spc cus they are ball joint and adjustable. The ball joints maintenence is just grease every tire rotation and they ride amazing on and off road. Had uniballs before and the maintenance is kind of a pain In the ass lol. Also had 285, they are sick but you will feel it a bit in your everyday driving. The weight, gas milage, price of tire ect. Unless you plan on a re gear, I just stuck with 265/75r16..32 inch tire but got me everywhere. And I wheel pretty hard to go fishing lol. If u want 33s, check out the 255/85r16. 33 inch tires but skinnier. Don't feel it on gas milage and they don't weigh all that much. Only come in MT though and they do cost about the same as 285s

Do it! Would love to see them.

Also, like I stated before. Contact kevin @HeadStrong Off-Road for pricing on SPC. Tell them you're from the 4runners.com forum They always take care and once he told me the price, I couldn't go with anything else lol. Good people those guys I knew the prior owner well, but I believe Kevin is keeping up with their customer service

I have no experience with the front coilovers, but I run the fox 2.0 shock in the rear with icon coils and it rides great. Don’t forget about rear coils if you’re wanting to lift the rear as well or if you’re just going to level it. If you’re sticking with the stock OR wheel you should be fine, there’s a couple people on here with 285’s and the stock wheels that don’t run just make sure you get a good alignment. You have adjustable coilovers, so they can be adjusted to 0”-3”. The higher you go the more the ride quality decreases but I would imagine even at 3” it’ll be a night and day difference from stock.

If you haven’t talked to Accutune Offroad, do so. They will custom valve your Fox shocks for you, and help you select spring rate.

My Taco has 2.5 factory series w/ reservoirs and 2.0 factory resi’s on the rear with a custom shock mount. Wheels amazing! I went to a cat scale to get f/r weights to submit with my order and voila!
