I am looking to build a sleeping platform / storage system for my newly acquired TRDOR.

Are most of you sleeping with your head at the rear or the front ( next to the rear doors). What is the preferred orientation for you and why ?

I sleep with my head toward the front of the vehicle, because there is an ever so slight slope toward the rear of the vehicle, at least with my setup. I have the sliding rear cargo deck, and I use Rubbermaid Action Packers (8 gal.) on the rear seat floors, in place of where the seat bottoms would normally be with rear seats folded, and they Action Packers stand about 1/2" higher than my folded down seat-backs. The area there is wider too, so it's more comfortable for my hips, etc with the lady friend. I also just like my head being here for some reason, from a safety/security stand point.. I dunno. I usually just crack the rear hatch window and leave the rest up.

Head to front, unless slope of ground makes that uncomfortable. No real reason, just seems "safer"... but can't really articulate as to why.

Been doing the head to front as well. I never gave it much though but I think it's naturally easier to park with the front sloped a little up so better for sleeping...
