In lighter news.. how do you guys go about washing the 4Runner's roof? LOL if I don't look like a fool trying to balance one foot on front tire, one leg hanging all out, one hand somewhere near the edge of the windshield, and finally one hand reeaaaching as far as I can, trying to get that one little area (probably the middle of the sunroof for you sunroof fellas). And I'm 6'3"! Ugh, I already have too many car wash tools, guess I need to add a ladder to the arsenal, ha!

..just sharing what you probably already knew.

    Cheers

Heh, I tried this on the first wash after I ditched my Predator Steps. Dirty, soapy water dripped all over my seat..

Guess I just need to get these sliders installed! Hurry up, suspension!

Even with steps, there's no way my other half could wash the roof. Big, badass truck probs, I guess. :D

I would try something like this (I have one similar called cosco)-not costco; worked great on an Explorer and Jeep

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
I'm 6'2" and used to do the same dance lol. I got this from Harbor Freight. Much better! DSCN5604.jpg

I have both a one-step, and a two-step stools and both fold flat when not in use. But you will likely need the two-step for the roof. They both work great. However, I like that aluminum stand above.

In fact, I just now ordered the aluminum one above. LOL Thanks for showing this Blue 4 Runner.

Good idea Blue 4Runner--that one looks a bit more stable than the one I have. I may get one of those when my 4R arrives.

How much soap to you use?

I was the center then close the door to wash the rest. No drips. Its more work for me to lug around a stool or ladder.

Gotcha. Good thinking. Yeah once I realized I couldn't reach, my entire roof was coated in soapy water. A change in my order of doing things could remedy that.

Still, I don't step on my door sills. ;) (I'm sure you'll love that lmao.)

True but if you weigh over 200 lbs. (I sure as hell do!) or the crate is old and brittle you can easily break through them. Ask me how I know.

Just a heads up, Home Depot has a very similar stand to the one Blue posted on sale for $25 every so often. I bought one last year to help with loading my kayaks on my Yukon and it's great, also folds flat. But I have seen on sale about 3 or 4 times since. Also in the event you don't have a Harbor Freight near you

Just received mine from Harbor Freight. This works wayyyyy better than my two-step stool. And safer too. Especially for an old 70 year old guy like me. LOL. Not expensive and highly recommended. Thanks again Blue.

    Rick

My new 2021 ORP is scheduled to arrive at the Dealership between mid and late April. YAY!!! But going to be HARD to part with the FJ Cruiser. Pout.
