I bought a ‘14 that came with 20inch wheels and a Rough Country lift. I’m replacing the wheel set with 275 or 265/70/17 tires and 17 8.5 wheels. I want to remove the lift when I get the new wheels and tires installed. What do I need to purchase to do this? Just shock absorbers? I was thinking about getting the Bilstein B6 4600 monotube shock set but I don’t know if that’s right.

    "Hey guys!

I just purchased my first 4runner and I want to replace the existing 20inch wheels. I'm looking at purchasing 17/8.5 but I'm confused with offset. CarID says the 0mm offset will fit but I don't know if this will look right with 265/70/17 AT tires. It's not lifted or anything. Please help a girl out, thanks! Oh I should add it's an SR5."

    Is it lifted or no?

It is lifted.. I went to the tire shop yesterday and had them check it out because I was unsure. I thought maybe the 20inch wheels were the cause of the height. This is all new to me and I’m learning so I apologize for the error.

It's not an error, but for the best possible advice, it needed the clarification you have provided.

First of all, congrats of removing that trash from your 4Runner.

Now.. to help you, we need to know exactly what the "lift kit" is. Take a picture of the front shock/spring, and another of the rear shock/spring, and post them here. Be sure to get the entire assembly, from tops to bottom.

Depends. If you have a 6 inch lift on it, then it’ll have the cross member chopped so I don’t know if thats reversible. If it’s just spacers, it would be a basic remove and replace job.

Per the RC site, 3" is the biggest lift they offer:

Not to say that someone couldn't have pieced something together using this and something else, however.

Most of the RC offerings are spacer lifts, + maybe shocks.

I will add that Rough Country is one of the bottom feeders of the Jeep suspension world.

It’ll be a simple remove and replace job. It doesn’t look like the rear is lifted either, so you could just have the front spacer removed and it’ll have factory rake. Unless you want different shocks.
