    Greetings All,

Placed an order on a SR5 Premium yesterday. Not much to choose from out there so I'll wait and not compromise on anything this time. I was told about 8 weeks. This looks like a good resource for info as was TacomaWorld back when I was doing that.

    Good to be here

I'm afraid I'm going to keep it boring. The only time I use 4X4 is for heavy snow so a set of Michelin's will be the first order of business. That and proper tint. I'll sell the take-offs. I'm sure I'll find all kinds of ideas on stuff to spend money on around here tho. Never fails.

Not sure where you’re located but when I was looking for my ORP (bought last week) there was a large inventory or SR5 Premiums here in the Southeast.

I'm in St. Louis. I have specific things I won't budge on and couldn't find anything within reasonable distance. Prior to the past year I would have flown to Japan and drove it back home. Not so much right now. I shotgunned out my requirements to the dealers in the area and only one said, yeah we don't have that but we will get one built for you! Under MSRP at that. I'm in no hurry.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Welcome to the forums from Oregon!

    We, my lovely wife and I, just got a 1999 4Runner, SR5, 5 MT, 5VZ-FE engine.
The dealer I bought it from only wanted $5000 for it! It was a fleet vehicle, so they kept up the maintenance on it, but the skid plates are missing, along with the ash tray, the cover for the inside fuse box, and so on. I found a place and that stuff is on it's way.
For that, he did the head gaskets, timing belt, water pump, TPS, MAF, ECU, and so forth! It runs like a dream, now, but is throwing codes for both knock sensors. I suspect they washed the engine, or steamed it, and got water in the plugs, or the pig tails. No big. Come summer, we're going to get those replaced.

Nicest thing was, they shipped it to us from Denver for $1100. We checked, and we couldn't fly up there for that, let alone drive back Just a thought for your next buy. Get them to ship it to ya. The only problem is that YOU can't walk around, lean over the engine, look under it the frame, check the inside, and so on.

Anywho, as long as you're happy :)

    Welcome.

Curious, what were you picky about?

So can one actually order a 4Runner, like one can with a BMW, for example? There didn't seem to be all that many options available on the 4Runner, so I had no trouble picking one off of the 5 lots located within an hour of where I live.

Trim - Color - then Moonroof and/or Sliding Deck or neither.. and that was it. A few accessories here and there but most of those are removable (or free) if you push hard enough. Mine did come with the keyless entry pad, which probably isn't considered "removable," but I was happy to have it for the price. I feel you though.. just curious. BMW's have like 10 packages, so it's basically necessary to order one if you are picky about packages and color.

Congrats! I agree with the limited availability, I have been on the hunt for one as well and its slim pickins.

Seems consistent with other users here, I didn't get a port arrival date but the new SR5P is due into the KC rail yard tomorrow. Then onto a hauler to STL, so probably a delivery this weekend or early next week. I'm looking forward to it!

The wait is over! Took delivery today. Used vehicle prices are insane right now so I'll just say that this was a once in a lifetime purchasing experience. I got a good bit over a solid offer from CarMax for my trade. I was quoted less than MSRP when I ordered the SR5P and the dealer honored that. No BS. Many thanks to Ackerman Toyota in St. Louis. YMMV.

Tint and some Michelin's is next. Old guy mall cruiser......

How long did it take from the time it arrived at the port to delivery at dealer?
