Recap: found a 2015 Trail with 118K miles and asked the dealer about the frame. They sent the pics seen in the link below, and told me they already inspected the frame and it passed. They said it would have been sent to auction if the frame hadn't passed their inspection. I was then also offered a thorough cleaning of all rust and application of WAXOYL corrosion resistance coating for $895 (which covers the life of the 4Runner and all future applications of the coating as long as I own it).

I haven't been to see the vehicle myself yet or inspect it.

With that said, anyone have any similar experiences or any experience with the WAXOYL?

Where ar you located? There are several corrosion protection product. Waxoyl is one of them. Fluidfilm is the another one. I would stay away from Ziebart. Also there is product called Noxudol. Limited applicators in the east, but I like their product from Sweden....

I talked to some dealers that saw fluid film vehicles and NHOU oil. They said be careful. If not applied carefully and it gets on rubber the rubber swells sand deteriorates.

Just what I heard I am still researching.

Fluid Film is safe to use on modern rubber.
