I haven't see this one asked, I'm running 275 KO2's on my stock TRDORP and I'm considering spacers for a more flush outer edge. I'm looking at the .25, .50 and 1.0 BORA spacers. I'm thinking inner front fender trim/mod. I've removed my mud flaps already. I'm definitely keeping the stock wheels, as I actually like them. Anyone have any input?

Yes you will likely need to trim your front fender liner and pull your mud flaps back, because you are increasing your scrub radius.

Is there any reason you need to do this besides looks? You're adding unnecessary weight and points of failure to do so.

Your tires might rub on the body mounts. If you aren’t rubbing the fender liners now I doubt you will with the spacers on.

I have OR wheels, 285's, 1.6" lift, the fender liner mod, and my caster is set to 3.6 degrees (that's an important component).

I've tried a couple of different wheel spacer sizes up front and this is what I've found:

I didn't rub at all with 1" spacers. With 1.5" spacers, I rubbed on the mudflap in reverse.

No rubbing on the body mount.

Are all of these spacers bolt on, or do they require longer studs to be affixed and then the spacer just slides on before the wheel?

My 275's rub bad. I have no spacers but my Venture / TRD Pro wheels have a lower offset, so it's effectively the same thing. I'm not sure what the difference in offset is, I just know that mine is lower. My 275's are also bigger than yours though, I believe.

I like spacers on cars for a more flush look, so I considered it on the 4Runner. I don't really like running huge spacers though, which appears to be what the 4Runner needs, so I said eff it and kept it natural. With huge fender gap and lift, it doesn't bother me.

The spacers bolt on to the existing studs (typically 100 ft/lbs of torque with loctite), then have new studs coming off them that you bolt the wheel to.

You need to do the fender liner mod if you don't want rubbing with Pro wheels and 275s. The Pro's come from port with the fender liner mod and they run 265's.

Yeah I already cut my bumper but I'm waiting to use a heat-gun on my fenders / mud flap until after I install my lift. I guess I could go ahead and do the fender liner mod - aka elongate the mounting holes and push it forward. Need to look into that...

I'd rather have longer studs installed then non-bolt-on spacers affixed in between wheel and hub. Does anyone make those for the 4Runner? Again, I've never gone over 18mm, or about 2/3", with spacers... so I'm not sure if there would be safety considerations with longer studs at closer to an inch.

Not sure if it's available, but 1/2" spacers + 1/2" longer studs would be where I'd be looking if I wanted spacers.

    Cheers

I'm not a mechanical engineer, but my thinking is that longer studs = a bigger chance of bent studs.

I'm more comfortable with the idea of 2 sets of shorter studs, personally.

TRD wheels as in the wheels that come with the Off Road or the wheels that come with the Pro?

With your particular set-up, you'd probably rub putting any spacers on.

However, If you did the fender liner mod and got an alignment and had them push the caster forward to somewhere around 3.8 degrees, you could probably get away with a 0.5" spacer. It's possible you might have to do a little mud flap massaging with a heat gun as well.

But this is just my best guess. I don't have your particular set-up.
