Hey guys quick question. Have a 2019 4x2 SR5. Was wondering how do you know if it has a limited slip diff? Did a search but came up empty handed.

Should be listed on your build sheet.

You can look yours up by VIN here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/vehicle-specification

One quick note, many have what Toyota calls an ALSD, which isn’t really a limited slip; it’s just clever traction control using the brakes to act as a pseudo limited slip.

I still would like to know what rear diff I have because I would like to know what fluid to use and if I need limited slip diff additive when doing a fluid change. Any info and advice is very much appreciated!
    Thank you in advance!!

Put a jack under the rear diff. Raise until wheels off the ground. Rotate one wheel by hand. If both tires rotate the same direction you have a LSD, if they go opposite of each other, then a standard open diff.

I don't think any 5th gens have a traditional clutch pack Ltd. Slip. I think it's an "e-ltd slip", meaning it just works off the brakes/traction control. One wheel spins, and it applies brakes to that wheel, thereby sending more torque to the other wheel, assuming it has grip.

The manual will tell you what type of oil to use.

I could be wrong. But I'm gonna go with ... ALL 4Runners have an open rear differential unless you have a TRD (or Venture of course) which has a locking rear differential (which still is probably "open" until you manually lock it up - electrically, I imagine). LSD's aren't really found in vehicles other than sports cars, mostly because of cost, and because sheeple aren't good enough at driving to handle an LSD in the rain.
