I do my own work need to get a better book. I enjoy doing the work i like learning how it works and knowing I CAN DO IT!
my 1995 4runner v6 started up in park like normal then put in drive the engine shut off . Weird I put it back in park the engine eres back up. Did the whole thing over again the same thing. So I've looked at the battery connectors their good. If anyone can give me some input I could use thanks

Is the engine still cold when you shift into gear? How well does it idle? How many miles on the plugs. Several different things could potentially be causing the problem(fuel delivery?). Process of elimination.

Someone changed the markings on my timing so it makes high or depending on how I move the Distributor up or down . But it still won't be right until the timing Mark is collect . So I work with what I can. I have new spark plugs it has a ticking while idling and during driving .But when the engine turned off the engine was cold .I just drove it it turned on as drove but still has the ticking sound

Sticky lifter? Take a long screwdriver and put your ear to the handle and the tip of the driver against the block, above each cylinder, and see if you can isolate which one the ticking is coming from.
