    I’m looking into getting a throttle controller to help with the throttle response. I’m debating between the sprint booster or the iDrive. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the sprint booster, and for the iDrive I’ve heard good as well just not in the same quantity. I’ve searched, so if you have experience with both or just the iDrive please let me know!

    I just installed the Injen throttle controller. About $200. Works the same as the Sprint Booster i had in my X5.

    I got a GiddyUp controller from MidAtlantic Offroading. It's the same thing as the iDrive but cheaper. You might want to check them out. These all do the same thing, you are paying for name brand and packaging.

    I've recently been looking at controllers, and for $99, this one obviously would be the choice. Does it work well and really make a difference?

    I got it last year around Thanksgiving. I would say it works as well as I thought it would and does make a noticeable difference. Especially in Sport and Race settings. But in those driving smooth becomes tricky. The transmission is quick to shift down even at the slightest throttle application. Not sure if this is good for the transmission. I usually have it off or switch between Eco, or comfort if I need a little more spirited response. The other thing is your mpg will probably drop significantly in comfort, sport, race modes. The reality is Toyota did a pretty good job finding the sweet spot between fuel economy and responsiveness. Until I've had experience driving offroad I would have said save your money.

    Recently I've had the chance to play around with it in snow, snow/ice, and sand. On these surfaces being able to change the throttle response made the most difference. Deep snow and sand I used the sport settings to keep the revs and momentum up, and on icy snow, I slowed the response way down to avoid spinning the tires. I'm still not totally convinced about keeping it. While there are benefits to it, I'm worried about transmission longevity.

    For $100 it's worth trying out. They run promos all the time and are great guys to work with. About a week after I ordered mine they ran a sale and refunded me to the difference.

    I wonder if there are any on the market that just have 3 settings. Like stock, alive or lets get it on.
    Stock for in town and alive for the highway.
    9, 15 or 20 settings just seems like brain overkill.

    IDRIVE HAVE STOCK WHICH IS OFF, ECO YOU CAN SET 1-10, FAST 1-10 AND AC. AUTO CONTROL SO YOU HAVE 3 SETTINGS .

    Sprint Booster has off, Sport, Race. Sport & Race have 1-9 settings each. Whatever you set in each is in memory, so if you change modes, it comes back to the last setting you used in each mode. So if you find a setting you like in each, you can toggle back and forth.

    I'm pretty sure you can. Upon first test drive, I remember thinking Sport 7 was a little too much for my taste, so I lowered it to Sport 5. Race mode was too much for me.

    I am now in a test run with it off for a couple of tanks of gas, to see if what I experienced recently in Sport 5 as far as gas mileage was due to the SB or just winter blend gas...

    Look for the duration of the warranty in your decision making process. All electronics will fail eventually.
    When one of these fails you will know it, the ECU catches it, sets one or more codes, and puts the vehicle into limp mode.

    From forum postings over the years it seems that SprintBooster is more reliable than Pedal Commander. Haven’t seen any info about the other devices mentioned.

    i like the fact that sprint booster has the auto lock for the pedal and valet mode.. with auto lock you can't get any pedal response until the PIN is entered.. that a plus for theft, I guess..
