Confused need help

hey all new to this forum stuff .I'll try not to ask any questions I can probably find in already answered threads. I always hate reading the same questions on other sites over and over .so hello and ill be off in search of answers but since I'm new ill I'll lay it out here 1rst and not feel like a dummy (I already do) 2000 4 runner 3400.
I recently purchased a trimming belt ,water pump,and rollers etc to change a bad water pump on my recently purchased 4runner.
OK. I did this on ebay and the sellers page I saw 3.4 and it was really a steal so I excitingly hit buy now .OK I'm all happy I got my parts on the way.thing is when I get the email my parts have been shipped I think I might have been hasty because from what I'm reading it says parts fit 2002 2003 2004 2005 4runner 3.4 but no mention of my year model a 2000 OK I'm confused .3rd gen years of manufacter are 1996-2002 .my question is has the 3.4 changed timing belt length in 2003 on a 3.4 and water pump are they different also on a 3.4 .I always thought a 3400 engine is a 3400 engine no mater what year and did they even put a 3400 in 4th gen if they did I'm probably fine I'd really like some direction on a parts interchange site so I may be able to check a cross reference possibly parts are in Phoenix headed to Kentucky I just want to ease my mind either way thanks.

 

Are the parts you purchased OEM with OEM part numbers? If so, call or drop by your local Toyota dealer, with your VIN# and ask for the part numbers for each item you purchased. If they match, you're gold. If not? Either try to work out a return with the seller, or resell the parts yourself. Mistakes happen and we all make them(perhaps for different reasons), but when we make them if we're lucky enough to live through them - we learn. Good luck.

Not oem I wish . I looked over the sellers page again and the header of his add says the parts fit a Tacoma and plainly states will fit a 4runner 3.4 but in the full description. None of the 3rd gens are metioned all I find is 4.7 I'm thinking I'd never be that lucky a 4.7 belt and water pump being the same maby the rollers possibly. I wonder how ebay deals with misrepresenting a sellers product im sure it was just a mistake on their part but shipping should in my opinion be on them. And thanks for the welcome I've been reading for about 2 months im glad I joined so I can weigh in now .

Ok new parts came in and everything was correct.Its been raining so I'll have to wait till it stops to put the parts on.Looking forward to giving the ole girl a little tlc.
