Hey everyone! Back in November I traded in my Tundra on a new 2021 TRD premium. I’ve been lurking on here ever since but I’m getting ready to do my first real mod and I need some help. I have a 2.5 series Elka lift that should be here in the next week or two so I’m preparing for the install. Could anyone recommend a good alignment shop in the kannapolis/concord NC area? I plan on running the stock TRD wheels with some 285/70/17 tires. Everything I’ve seen says I can run this setup with minimal rubbing. Can someone confirm this? Pics of the old Tundra and the new 4 runner below.
    Thanks!!!

PS: if you know anyone looking for skids for a 3rd gen Tundra let me know. I have a set of RCIs

Welcome to the forum from Wisconsin!

285's can usually be cleared with a little extra caster in the alignment, and some plastic trimming. If you look up the fender liner modification, you should find some good information about it.

    Good looking Tundra and 4runner!

Thanks!! I was planning on doing the fender liner mod this weekend. I’m hoping I can get by without doing a BMC

I think there are a handful of guys here with 285's and no BMC.

Welcome from Wisconsin!......Again. I bet you have a bunch of places around you to do the alignment, just which to choose. Nice 4Runner.

I have a couple of pieces of 2x6s that I pull up onto whenever I wash a vehicle. It makes cleaning the bottom part of the tires a lot easier

Welcome from Arizona. Soon to be a N.C. resident myself. I just read a post of a person having an issue after alignment with their PCS system. If you are up for it I would take it to the dealership. They charge about the same price as everyone else and if something goes wrong with the PCS they can more than likely take care of it.
Nice vehicles... I had a tundra as well and sold it. I miss the Tundra at times.

Hey guys! Finally getting around to updating this thread. Got the lift installed, new tires, and an alignment done a couple of weeks ago. It’s been about 500 miles since install. I ended up with 2.75” in the front and 2” in the rear. The truck handles so much better now and I don’t have any rubbing even when flexed. I originally wanted the Toyo AT3s, but ended up with Ridge Grapplers just because of the price I got on them. They ride fine, but I think the AT3s would be quieter.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
    Hmmm...
Looking at that first picture: I don't care how hard you try, those shocks and struts, probably, will not fit on the riding mower pictured. Also, I can almost make an absolute promise they won't go on the weed-whacker. Maybe if you fab up some decent mounts...

Other than those minor details, very nice 4Runner!
    :p:D

    Have fun!

I’ve got trd wheels on 285s and only removed mud flaps and trimmed a little up front. No BMC.
