This. Also, when you say 'second clip' - that's second from the bottom, right?

Took this one after installation. Like the manual said. Also using second clip bottom to top.

I had mine done about a month ago, front billstein set at 1.75. Ordered rear after many informative posts on this forum. Not copying here, more of a shout out, but I saw a pic here from MotorJock 721, and just really liked the look of it. My rear are now in, scheduled for next week install with 1 inch corn fed spacers. Mine looked level, until I had passengers in back and then reversed rake.
Like I said, there are so many informative posts on this topic alone. And like a good cup of coffee, everyone has different tastes etc. the good news is we all love our 4Runners so there in theory can’t be a “wrong” way. I’ll send some post pics next week with the added back.

Agreed w/ NIMBY. No reason you should have 2 inches from that setting, and alignment should not be an issue. Also, the rear fender well is a naturally higher cut than the front so using that as a measurement will not be accurate. Just as reference, I had 5100s on .85 setting on two Tacomas with no issue. Have not installed them on my 4Runner, but have them ready.

It appears your spring perch is the correct orientation.

    What coils are those?

this is how they are installed. Like the manual said. Still don’t know why I got more than .085 unless the springs of the 2021 are different than 2020 and down. Factory springs.

Factory coils. I only have 1600 miles on the runner. Also each coils belongs to each side. Driver was different from passenger.

@DJPSC has a 2021, I wonder if he noticed a spring difference. I just looked at my 2021 and driver and passenger have different colored markings, but visually I am unable to tell a difference. Was there a difference in height on driver and passenger after install?

I’ll check and take pics. I will say this, and maybe it’s just me....there seems to be a ever so slight lower lean towards the front right front. Granted, when I measure from pavement, it’s same and could be just from my driver seat adjustment. I’ll have LowCountry 4X4 do another level on Friday when I have my rear installed

That helps. I noticed both your left & right springs have the same white and orange/red colors. Not positive what that indicates, but mine has white and red/orange on one spring and white and greenish on the other spring. Mine is non KDSS.

I’m partially color blind and honestly did not even notice that. Since I’m getting my back done Friday, I’ll ask what it all means for you. You should have seen me trying to announce a local lacrosse game with one team in black with red numbers....might as well been camouflage!

Giving credit to 2016 4Runner SR5 for his response: “the drivers side spring is 9 wrap passenger is 8 wrap. This is done to try and compensate for everything heavy on the drivers side of the truck. Gas tank, battery, steering column, driver, etc. it sorta worked but every 4Runner still sits lower in the drivers side than on the passenger side.”

Hey 913. I asked LowCountry 4x4 and their response was that the coil springs are marked color coded per side. My rear were installed today and I could not be happier! 1 inch corn fed spacer which was the key both on look and also we swapped sides so now the truck is completely level. Here are some pics!! AA2FE5A5-AD0B-4D13-BB92-EA201993B8C7.jpgABC4D3F0-D866-4355-BAFA-84D6F518BC72.jpg 361CC62A-1FA9-4097-9BA7-54BE2A0DBFE6.jpg

    Ooookkayyy....

So the one dudes springs have the same color marking because he has KDSS. KDSS equipped vehicles have the same spring FL and FR from the factory. Non-KDSS have different springs.. the drivers side is slightly longer (few mm).

I think the guy with wonky height has that because he has a different shock part number. Using the blurry pics to investigate I believe I am coming up with part number 24-245487 whereas the 4Runner front 5100 is part number 24-196499. I can't find much info about 24-245487.. looks like it might be considered "universal" or perhaps it's an old part number.

Good call, KDSS vs Non. I’m the KDSS dude. Really happy with the outcome. It was a pic from this forum from MotorJock and lots of other informative posts that made it all happen. Have a wonderful weekend to all!

Looks really good! Glad you got it all sorted out. So you went 1.75 up front and 1 inch cornfed in the rear, right? Also, thanks for getting more information on the springs. Thank you.

Great investigative work on the part numbers! I just checked mine and it lines up w/ what you said, 4Runner 5100 #6499. Also, thank you for the information. Much appreciated.

913 that is correct!! 1.75 original upfront and after about a week with some passengers in back it just felt saggy. (Reverse rake)....so now it’s front 1.75, rear billstein stock and 1 inch corn fed spacer that were flipped which now completely leveled the front! I can send more pics if you need of anything

Just curious, whenever you get a chance (no rush), do you mind letting me know the front and rear height(s) from the middle of center cap to the bottom of wheel well? Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the quick response. I understand it is not exact, but for comparison, I am going to take measurements of mine which is still stock.

Such a great looking ride!! Love the Grey, we have a 2011 LC in grey so I didn’t want to be the smaller cousin lol. I did swap out the stock silver lugs for black ones which personally I think made a massive difference
