Picked up my 2021 TRDORP yesterday, but I've already been searching for rock sliders and/or steps for a few days now in anticipation. I need to act fairly quickly - like today or tomorrow - cause my wife is a little irked she can't get into the brand new vehicle *cough* (short).

Most of the pictures I am seeing do little good for my decision because they are at an angle from top or angle from bottom and my concern is the height of the step (needs to be lower than the floor of course, and some seem almost level with that) and the ground clearance (many that I have seen that are a good step have a downward horizontal pipe under the step, which appears to greatly (5"?) reduce ground clearance directly between the tires. Others have steps that jut out lower, but that's a non-starter if you want to slide off anything.

This will be a daily driver, but also driven around a 33 acre property and may encounter a rock or stump once in a while. I don't need maximum protection but at least a little something would be a good idea.

Add to that my budget is around $400, ideally less. Is this a total pipedream?

I think what I would prefer are rock sliders that bolt to the frame and stick out far enough to be a usable step, but those all seem to be a much higher step than most running boards or the predator nerf bar/steps.

Anyone have suggestions for a newbie?

I'd say find a local fab shop or local welder for $400 they'd knock that out easy (probably for less)

best thing is...the frame is predrilled for flat plate to bolt onto
