    Hi all,

A little over a month ago I purchased a 2021 super white TRD Pro. Thrilled with the truck. I have a 2011 Tacoma w/ about 250k on it as well, but what a difference 10 years makes in both comfort and technology.

Haven't done much, but since this photo I have tinted the front windows and windshield with Xpel ceramic tint, blacked out the rear badges, and I have had Xpel paint protection film installed on the entire front end - fenders forward. I did get the hood, mirrors, and doors protected from factory.

Look forward to some other mods in the future. Thanks for all the great info as I have lurked the forum for some time now before posting.

10 years? The 4Runner powertrain is not exactly cutting edge

I was referring to the time between my Tacoma and the 4Runner... TSS, LED lighting, upgraded stereo, power seats, dual climate control, etc.

I'd argue a powertrain that is consistent for that amount of time is a sign that Toyota has been doing things right in that department. Also, lends to the reliability factor that draws many to purchase these vehicles in the first place.

Enjoy the new wheels, it is a great vehicle ! Nice color, too.
Besides the TSS, it's nothing really new or cutting edge in terms of technology, just a "lower trim" level. Those are just items that were reserved for the higher top trims. I had an amazing stereo, power seats, inflatable (yes, with air) lumber support, auto climate control in my Buick Roadmaster, back in 1991.
They added the TSS because this is where the industry is going and it does not require any retooling. Safety ratings are now part of the shopping list. For the average consumer, crawl control is not up there with the OMG radar cruise control !
Your LED lights are high trim only here too, for example the Mustang got them back in 2015 on the base model. There are no LED lights on 2020 and earlier 4R.
The Entune system is slow and buggy for a 2020 release, the screen resolution leaves a lot to be desired. Completely non intuitive and difficult to use for what it is supposed to be. I give credit where credit is due, you might be coming from a much older version of it, but come on, this is not technological advancement. This is playing catch up and still late to the party. The "new" Entune looks awfully slow and dated as the one in our '14 Corolla.
Even though I used it only once, the crawl control is an advancement compared to the competition.
It widely inefficient and some consider it slow, a 5 speed was added back in 2005 and in 2021, you still get a 5 speed. Our crewcab V8 1" raised truck got 23-24 mpg on I90 long hauls, our 4R can only dream.
You buy a 4Runner for its reliability, resale value and offroad prowess, but I had to chuckle at the technology part.

Welcome to the forums, you will find a lot of great info here and talk to a lot of smart folks.
I will answer a few questions for you: yes, it will rub. Stay stock size and it will be fine. Yes, it will be hard to find out which lift kit to get. Yes, new UCA will be needed. The raptor lights are tacky (watch them yelling at me now). For the interior LEDs, I'd go Diode Dynamics, more expensive, but better quality. No, the light bar will not fit behind the grill because of the TSS. I see palm trees in your pic, but I would still undercoat it if you plan on keeping it. Yes, you will get good $ for the stock roofrack.

Welcome from N Austin, really liking the look of the new TRD Pro wheels. I have a 2020 ORP and thinking of grabbing a few of those. I'll do some research to see how they compare to the ORP 7.5 width/offset
