I wanted to get a chip for my SR5 but I've heard some negative responses about them. Quite a few people are under the opinion that they don't work. Has anyone tried this? What were your results? I don't want to bother with something that isn't going to improve my vehicle.

No, they are not. I have not heard of anyone having any kind of good results with chips on our rides.

Thank you for the info. That's pretty much what I've heard from everyone.

Now, isn't there something less destructive and maybe even more fun to do than smash things and grunt? Just curious and not in a condemning way. I totally understand the alpha male and appreciate them very much. We need more of them around in my opinion. :))

Get rid of it if your not happy with the performance. You did test drive it before buying it right? There are other SUVs out there that will blow the 4R's doors off but expect to pony up a lot more cash.

Could always eat a chocolate CHIP cookie while driving
I feel that's the best chip to have in your ride anyway :p

Thanks for the advice, I didn't purchase it. I personally think that a new vehicle should be designed and manufactured at its peak of performance to begin with. I guess I'm just weird that way.

You may like the Peddle Commander, it’s plug & play and makes a big difference in throttle control, i have been using one for over a year and would not be without one.

Keep in mind that our 4R's are not a sports car but rather a very very capable SUV yota engineers are pretty darn good at dialing the peak preference for this truck. Use it as intended and you won't be disappointed ;) check out my album for some inspiration :)
As fur "performance" a throttle response unit like pedal commander will give you that get up and go feeling your looking fur
Been rocking it for 5ish years and no complaints on my end absolutely love the thing. Also roar pedal; sprint may work for ya...same concept but I've only used PC so can't speak to the others

To be more specific, I go with the "chewy" type of chocolate chip cookie, as the crispy type can lead to interior complications. ;)
