2017 Limited - what do I need for sand?

Hi everyone,

Recently picked up a 2017 Limited and it is completely stock. I found out there’s a 3 mile “sand trail” near me where I can access a beach as well.

They require a special “sand pass” I have to apply for and it states you must have 4WD.

Is my stock Limited capable of driving on normal off road trails and sand on a beach? Should I consider 17” wheels with AT tires?

Also what should I consider for safety equipment etc?

Air down to about 18 lbs and go for it.

 

That's pretty much what I figured but I wanted to ask anyways. I'm a bit nervous that the stock tires on the Limited are not grippy enough for sand but I have had no issue with snow/ice so far so I guess it's fine.

 

Yeah, just take your time and get used to it, no sharp turns, do not slam the brakes on. If you have to stop, take off with easy steady power. Play with it a little you will see what I’m talking about.

 

Don’t forget a portable, or on-board, compressor to air back up when you hit the pavement.
