Treating yourself...

Sometimes things just work out & you must treat yourself to a toy/tool.
I have literally wanted this gun for 20 yrs now & I will have it Friday!
I have no need for the threaded barrel but if anyone knows about availability right now... OK!
I cannot wait & will be posting pics when I get it. I own a "few" guns but this is now the single most expensive!

With this pandemic it's been long time since I had trigger therapy. I have also become lazy to maintain my toys.

I will do! I have seen FN's out of the box; they come with a practice target to ensure accuracy.
Also, I have the same sights (I believe) on my glock & it is capable of being "zeroed".
I love my 45ACP's & will get it "on".

Yeah, range time is hard with the price of ammo! I am a 45ACP fan so I have some (never enough). However, it is somewhat cost prohibitive to target practice right now.
I have 1,500rnds of .22 I paid $35 for (I love my Ruger 10-22 take-down also). Now worth $1.30/rnd. Stupid silly.
All the idiots buying guns & ammo that aren't enthusiasts are the ones doing this to us!

Oops.. Looks like I have to buy new. Mine might have got bad since my cleaning was in the basement in cold.

 

I don’t think it ever goes bad, older is usually better actually. That’s how inflation works...

 

I wasn't feeling comfortable going back to the range yet. May be after winter time I'll go to an out door one. The nearest out door one has fixed target and have fixed time for everyone to change targets.

I haven't bought in bulk as no was at home before this pandemic to accept when delivered to home. I just bought from Walmart. I didn't know if the prices have gone up now.

Yeah, here in corn county all you need to know is a farmer or someone who has some land. We have free reign to shoot it is the price of ammo I cannot stomach.
A $0.60 45ACP round is now $1.40 or more! 22lr is up to $0.30-$0.40 per when they were under $0.05 1.5yrs ago! I'll keep my ammo & trigger memory before paying that!

I also heard my wife saying something like walmart stop selling ammo, which means I would have to pay $$$ when my stock is done..

Well I’m one of those non enthusiasts that’s helping drive up the cost, well not really. Picked this up a few weeks ago, my dad was a LEO range guy/firearms instructor so I shot a decent amount as a kid and military, and wanted to ensure I owned something as his disappeared over the years.



Have picked up a little ammo so Ince it warms up, I can at least put a few rounds through, but no way am I going to stock up at this point.

Last time i bought 45 it was 44 cents around. That was about a month ago. We had open range today at work that was pretty fun. It was on our own time but got to shoot work ammo.

 

I transferred a L1A1. That’s the only experience I’ve had with FN...

 

No bulk ammo to be found here in Denver either. Just those odd calibers that I don't need. We can get common handgun rounds at the club I belong too, but at pandemic prices. Limit one box per caliber, two if you're shooting that day. At least they have it. I was planning to buy a Henry 45-70 last fall, but can't find the ammo it likes to eat. None. I pretty much only shoot 45ACP now, and a range session is pricey at $.90/round.

 

OMG.. CGC has a limit to buy? Good lord I had no idea thats happening due to pandemic. I used to buy at the Walmart near CGC.

One, buying UMC Remington FMJ 45ACP used to cost me about $0.60/rnd (bought from wally world or Bass Pro).
Now it is $1.20-$1.40 for FMJ! This used to be the price for quality HP!
Stupid pandemic... same as 2008!

 

Nope. You qualify as an enthusiast. If you bought a gun because of riots or anything else dealing with that; then you are "that guy"...
If you need to ask "how do I get a gun?" You are that guy...
I have been sport shooting since pellet guns. I love the self control and relaxation it brings!

Yep, CGC. Neither Walmart near me has anything, including shot shells...I live between the one off Arapahoe and the one in the Ranch. I check every time I go. Rifle rounds other than .223/5.56 and Creedmore are vapor. If you're a member at CGC, let them know if you buy - there's a member discount price on most of it.

.223/5.56 is readily available around you? Anything good? I have a bunch of IMS 855 that are Israeli made steel (Google it). I could always use more. What do you need?

I'm pretty well set, but thanks for checking. I stocked up a bit after the last couple of panics. I think the 5.56 was IMI, and .223 XTac if I remember right. No green tips. I've just stopped with the weekly stress relief sessions to not reduce my hoard. I'll probably head over there this weekend to check on some classes. I can relay back what they have on the shelves. Nebraska isn't that far by 4Runner from Denver!

 

What do you need? I have friends that can find about anything & large caliber bullets are usually available around here.
Plus, we need a Colorado vacation badly!
