A friend has asked me to help her get rid of an 87 4Runner that was left on her property. I have no idea how to determine the value of this truck. Looking for help. It has not run in years. The body is straight. My understanding is the kill switch has been engaged(?).

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
Hows the rust on the frame, and under the body's paint? How's the inside look? Can you put a big-a$$ breaker bar on the crankshaft and turn the engine over with a fair amount of oooomph? Is there still coolant in the water jacket and radiator? If so, how rusted is the radiator inside? How dirty is the oil? Is there any sign of water in it? Or of oil in the radiator?
Is it an AT or MT? How's the transmission fluid look, whatever kind it is?
I'm sure others will have their own questions. Thosse are just what popped up off the top of my flat little skull..

The fence is because even a tired, beat up, old 'Runner like that could disappear if you're not careful. All it takes is ONE collector driving by...
    One unscrupulous collector, let's say.

With that front end damage, flat tires, and questionable motor and tranny, I would list it for $500.

In the hands of the right person it's a diamond in the rough.
