I tried to include this into a detailing question someone had but I needed to get the pictures first.
After buying the 4Runner & getting it Xpel wrapped and ceramic coated, I didn't know how to dry it if my backpack blower wasn't here. I figured I would pick up a pack of towels. Then I read that they are made to remove wax! Huh
Anyways, I found a drying towel & not a scratch or swirl on a 2 yr old black vehicle.
Be aware & read the uses of everything! Sorry to rant. I was pissed when I read that. I had used microfiber towels for years.

At Autozone most microfiber towels say the same thing! You will need a drying towel to preserve wax/polish.
I just wanted people to be aware that all microfiber towels are not meant for the same purpose. I believe my drying towel is also microfiber but didn't say anything about removing wax.

It doesn’t mean strip wax. It means remove when you buff off a freshly applied coat of wax.

Now that makes a lot more sense. Maybe better wording is needed.

I saw these talked about on another forum and tried a set. like em so much bought 3 more for a total of eight. 2 will completely dry a non ceramic coated 4runner and one if ceramic or better. It's unreal how much water they hold...wring them out and keep going. I use them to buff/wipe polishes and different coatings as well. watch some videos if interested

Thanks for starting this thread! I have been using a drive through car wash, and a good drying towel would really help prevent the water spots it leaves behind. I usually park for a few minutes afterward to let the remaining water drip off, but it's never quite dry. I didn't even think of getting a drying towel. That sure sounds more effective than waiting for it to air dry. :D

I just want everyone to learn the odd things I learn. Always something new to learn...
I will be back @ the parts store tomorrow & try & grab a picture of the drying towel I bought. It may not be the best; but it leaves no streaks or spots. Except for where that damn water hides in the mirrors & rear "spoiler".
A backpack blower or handheld leaf blower is the best way to dry it. Also, shade is important! Our black will dry itself if hot outside. I have to wash by corner & dry multiple times!
    Ryan.

The Chemical Guys Woolly Mammoth will dry with just 1. As long as there isn't sitting water on the roof.

I brush it off with my hand first on the roof and 1 towel takes care of the whole 4R.

I would avoid the drive through car wash. Both the touch and touchless. Touchless is worse because it uses hard chemicals to get the dirt off easier. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a user of them at times because 5 minutes sure beats a 2hr handwash!

I know all of that. I just don't care enough to spend half a day every weekend cleaning the car.

Plus, if you use a good wax or something to protect the paint the touchless doesn't really cut through that.
