4runner with V8?

    Newbie here again: Did any generation of the 4runner come with the same V8 used in the early Tundra trucks? Thanks, Ron.

    Thank you for that amazing answer to my Q. This is so good I've already printed it out and copied it--the original will be pinned to the wall over my work bench, and the other goes into a plastic folder in my "4Runner" research binder. Ron...

    Should also note, there are older 4.7 and newer ones. I believe the plastic upper plenum on the 2uz (which is the newer) produces a bit more HP or torque. It’s been a few years since I’ve seen the numbers.

    Also, the V8 4Runner uses full-time 4wd. Somewhat like AWD; people seem to prefer this in snow.

    True, there are plenty of 2wd versions floating around, usually with low miles as well.

    Just trying to note that 4wd V8 are all full-time 4wd.
