Hello all. I have a 1990 Toyota Runner I’ve been working on as a project. I’ve been working on the interior as it was pretty badly damaged & am working on the carpet. I for the life of me cannot find what the stock color name of the carpet is. Does anyone know any information where I can find it? I’ve been searching google for days diving down different rabbit holes with no avail. I found that some people said the code is on the vin sticker. Which is HG11, but when I search that.. it doesn’t pop anything up about colors. Please help!

I found the carpets online already. However, Toyota manufactured 3 different grey colors for the carpet...
Grey, dark grey & mist grey. I’m trying to find the correct grey to put in so I don’t have issues with matching the carpets with the seats.

If I understand your original post correctly you are trying to find the EXACT gray Toyota installed. May I suggest even if you could find it, given decades of fading of seats/interior, it wouldn't match.

Did you explore the website suggested above? I did. Seems they offer grays in more shades than I ever thought existed: gray, smoke gray, silver gray, dove gray, medium gray, dark gray, etc. BONUS: they will send, free of charge, up to ten samples! I'd suggest if you can't find your perfect shade of gray from that website you never will.

An aside.... Years ago my 4Runner was stolen. Thirty days later the police located it. My front seats (among numerous other parts) were missing. Since then, never once have I seriously wondered if my replacement seats EXACTLY matched my carpet/interior. Until your post I never much worried or thought about it. Now I wonder if my gray is gray, dark gray or mist gray. Or, perhaps, smoke, silver, dove or medium gray. Hmmm.

Good point. I mean, other than a slight tear in the driver seat from being old. The color looks really good! However, it looked like the truck was being used as a work vehicle or something. A lot of oil in the back of it & some in the carpets on the floor boards. I might just order it then as you make a valid point. Just didn’t want it looking two toned
