Hi-new to the forum and just picked up a '21 4R trd Pro. I want to get some slider / step bars. Realistically, I won't be doing any serious off-roading maybe some light stuff in New England. Want something low profile (that doesn't hang way down like the toyota predator rails) but will also function as a good step up bar for the kids / wife. Anyone have any experience with Green lane off road and can let me know their thoughts on these?

    Thanks!

Welcome from Arizona! I use RSG sliders and am happy with them. They can also be used as a jacking point. Just a thought, there are many to choose from.

    Welcome from Arizona!

I just installed rock sliders and skid plates about 1 week ago. I went with Westcott Design rock sliders. They are competitively priced and some of the nicest rock sliders I have seen. This is the only company that I found that tig welds all their rock sliders.

To get a top plate you have to go with a 0 degree slider. Then they will serve both as a step and rock sliders.

I ended up getting the 20 degree (no top plate) and in the front seats the rock sliders are useless for stepping. If you lift your 4runner or are short then you can step on them. In the back however it has a kick out and those are perfect for stepping on. My kids step on them to get in the 4runner. I think his website has enough pictures but I will throw one more in there.

I’m ready to replace the factory installed standard steps on my 2021 Pro. All the others look much better.

Welcome from Phoenix, my sliders are also Westcott Designs 20 degree, like Grant said, not very usable for a step, but I wanted protection only. Jeff is great to work with, Rob does a superior job welding.

RSG angled with step to help keep debris from hitting the rocker panels, did not really get them as a functional step but i do use them for stepping in, and out. I like the tucked in look, and I’m a senior with no problem getting in or out.

Another RSG vote here. For reference, I have the flat (no angle) sliders with the grip top plate, and even with the flat sliders, I gained 2.5" of ground clearance over the oem running boards, as measured against another 4R at work.

Angled or flat, your choice, depending on how important the step surface is to you.

I also have the RCI 5 deg sliders with step plate. Well built and great protection for on and off road.

My RSG flat sliders with kickout is perfect for my kiddo to get in and out. She can keep both feet and carefully get in and out.
Since the sliders are flat its easy for me to use the hilift jack as well.
