A Hello & a big Thank You!

Hi from the Oregon coast. You all played a big part in my final decision to purchase the rig you see here, '21 ORP, on Black Friday (apropos) and I thank you!

I had initially placed a deposit on an Army Green '21 Trail and was waiting, forever, for it to arrive. In the end, with your educated assistance, I decided that I both wanted, and needed, the additional 4WD features that the OR offered. Since apparently I'm not getting younger I also found myself wanting/needing the creature comforts of the Premium, w/moonroof. I grew to find that I was only excited about the color and that, for me, was not smart. And, at $4.5K below msrp and no sales tax, it was a no brainer.

Just turned 1000 miles today and loving every bit of this truck. Slow and poor mpg's they (some) said...HA, I thought! Having driven, daily, a 4WD VW Vanagon for more years than I care to count, to me my 4Runner is both economical and a rocket ship!

So far, I've done a few things as you can see. I'll probably do more? As a lifelong "car guy" it's hard to leave well enough alone. Again, thank you for allowing me to become part of your community. The information I found here was invaluable in finding the right 4Runner, for me.

I like them a lot. Second set Iv'e had recently (on '83 Toyota pickup also) and I was very impressed the first time around. Called a "hybrid" tire now I guess. AT tread in center & MT lugs towards the outer sections. So, for a MT tire they are incredibly quiet on pavement, riding only on the center AT treads. Being a softer compound, they also grip really well. Longevity may then be scarified, I don't know, yet. They do have really good reviews, and they are nicely priced.
