What is generating such enthusiasm, specifically, for the TRD Pro?

    Monochrome everything. LED reverse lights.
    well it’s gonna be awhile before I really start adding significant weight to my rig but I do want the small lift to fit 285s on. Thing is the more I drive mine and off-road it I’m finding suspension mods less necessary. These things are legit stock or pro.

    I went with Shrockworks sliders on a group buy at the other forum. Dimpled treadplate, angled up, textured black powder coat. I like them a lot, but they for sure aren't the beefiest option out there. Should be more than sufficient for my needs though.

    I have Shrockworks sliders and they seem beefy as hell. If you manage to break one, you probably should have been driving a buggy.

    Oh trust me I'm not worried about mine at all. That said, at 45 lbs per side, there are some beefier options out there if you plan on bouncing off boulders. Just to name two, C4 Fab's are 65 lbs per side, and Budbuilt's Ultimate Sliders are 67 lbs per side which doesn't include tread plates (add an extra 12 to 14 lbs per side for those)....woof.

    I fall into the category of those sold on the color alone. My first car was a green land cruiser fj80 and then when I was in my early 20s working at a game lodge in RSA we had an old HJ75 that they had painted in surplus military OD.
    As soon as I could find a AG TRDPro in my area the old nostalgic heartstrings pulled on the wallet. I was lucky to go in at the end of the month and made out at msrp.

    No major mods yet
    Ha, I was the same with my FJ. Had to have the Army Green! I waited and waited and finally, bought the first green one sold in Colorado. 27 OCT 2009. The funny thing is that I had a four level cervical fusion done three weeks earlier (C4-7). So I showed up at the stealership in my neck brace hoping for the pity discount on the price. It didn't work, but I drove home one happy camper.

    LOL !! OMG !!! Two-grand more than a new one ??? Would seem to make more sense to just order a new one at MSLP and wait for it. Guess the dealer is doing a trial balloon to see if there's someone that just has to have something - right now !!
    Makes the new ORP - which they will discount - look like a bargain. And the difference in cost would allow all kinds of mods.

    This is why the OR is a better build platform. It has everything you want from the PRO and you can get better tires and suspension plus other mods and come out cheaper.

    True. There's definitely a market for the PRO. I just meant as far as off-roading.
