    I do know that if you use offroad tacoma coils you have just made a huge mistake as you have changed your front coils from linear to progressive.

    The most important factors in 285/70/17's not rubbing is to stay within the stock wheel specs and proper alignment numbers.

    When you go outside of the stock wheel specs or use wheel spacers, that's when people start having rubbing issues. For some, they rub on the body mount, in which case they will have to complete the BMC or Body Mount Chop. Not a huge deal if you have a grinder, a welder, and fabrication skills (or want to pay someone to do it), but not everyone is comfortable going that route.

    You can try and avoid the BMC by pushing the caster forward on your alignment, which pushes the tire slightly forward in the wheel well to potentially avoid any rub on the body mount and/or mud flap. Most people agree that 4 degrees is a good caster number to aim for. It also helps freeway driving by limiting road wandering. However, you may rub a little on the front fender liner with your caster pushed this far forward. This is fixable with a phillips screw driver and a box cutter by loosening 1 screw on the fender liner, pushing the fender liner forward, tightening the screw in the new location and trimming a half inch or so on the very lower front section of your fender flare. Extremely easy stuff and aesthetically unnoticeable from stock if you do it correctly.

    I went with Firestone Destination A/Ts. They measure 32.8" in diameter. If you compare tires, a lot of 285/70/17's come in at 32.8" in diameter or very close to that.

    This is the first time I'm hearing about ADS having low speed compression adjusters.

    Do you happen to know if they have them on their rear shocks (that will fit a stock height 5th gen)?

    What are you meaning? Tacoma 3th gen TRD Off road are progressive, while TRD sport are linear. For off roading progressive is the way to go.

    Yes they have them for the rear I'm running them on my wife's 4runner. MCM is going to have a triple bypass rear shocks available that he is working with ADS to get the tubes in the right places to clear back there.

    Not sure. But they would be awesome. I'm probably gonna upgrade to those. I have triple bypasses on the Tundra and they are amazing! Would be able to dial in the rear of the 4runner nicely with bypasses.

    For sure! I'd love to go that route too, but would most likely be too pricey for my budget.

    If you decide to upgrade and you're going to sell those ADS rear shocks, keep me posted. I would be interested in picking them up.

    Out of curiosity, what setting (on the compression adjusters) do you keep the rear shocks at with no additional weight in the back?

    I will jeepkyou in mind if we upgrade. I leave them the same loaded or unloaded. I believe out back I am 2 or 3 clicks in from full soft. I leave it like that for that low speed parking lot comfort and low speed rocky sections of the trail. ADS progressive valving is pretty spot on out of the box. But to each his own. The wifey bombs speed bumps and has never complained about harshness or blowing through the stroke lol....

    Figured I’d revive this thread instead of making a new one.

    Anybody pay a shop to rebuild a set of 2.5 King coilovers? Just picked up a set and now getting into the financial part of having coilovers. A local shop (the only one in my area) quoted me at about $600 (if I provide the parts) to remove, rebuild, and reinstall the coilovers on all four corners with an alignment.

    Sound about right?
