    Whatsup fellas...
    I don’t have a 4Runner, but a 2020 Honda Passport.
Always loved the 4Runner but with the 3star rollover crash rating my wife said no lol (1 kid with 1 on the way).
I love the Honda but I’ve always been hesitant of their reliability with the VCM and ZF 9 speed transmission. With almost 9,000 miles it’s been flawless so far...but who knows maybe I’ll convince her of a 4Runner eventually!

    Welcome from flyover country.

Know nothing about the Passport, but from your photos it looks great.

Thanks....it has the 2” lift installed by the dealership with 265/65/18 continental terrain contacts. I managed to get the running boards and crossbars/roof basket for free from them

    Welcome to the forum.

As for reliability I think Honda is nowhere near the reliability compared to something like Highlander or 4Runner. My friend's Pilot (with same powertrain as Passport) already got the fuel injector failure and lucky to get it fixed under warranty. I think transmission issues are solved now. Issues like buzzing noise from speakers, static noises, camera issues, speedo meter going blank, etc is still out there (saw those on a 2020 Pilot Review video published Nov 2020).

If you are looking for something closer to the Passport look at the 4Runner Limited. It has full time 4wd just like Passport AWD you don't have to touch any control to drive in snow or rain on the road. If you want to go offroad you can switch to H4L (4 wheel high range) or L4L (4wheel low range) where it is insane capable over a Passport.

4Runner been a real suv (body on frame vs a crossover suv like Passport) you will loose MPG though.

As for safety ratings I think the concern is small overlap crash test where it targets outside of frame.

I was dead set on a 4Runner until she saw what the rollover rating.
I personally don’t think it’s that big of a deal...I would have bought the Runner in a heartbeat. The Passport is actually very nice and I have been impressed so far. I’ve always been a Toyota guy as I’ve had a Tacoma and several tundras and a sequoia lol so I would love to get back into a Toyota some day.
How are the backseats?? Would two car seats fit easily?
The passport has about 7 inches or so more leg room from what I’m seeing

I don't have any experience on Passport but drives my friends Pilot. Pilot has ton of space than the 4Runners. Since all my 4Runners are lifted I don't take turns too fast vs with Pilot I was able to play more on the road.

My kiddo was big when I got my first 4Runner so didn't had a chance to test a rear facing child seat. Fixing front facing seat was not hard, the 2 latches between the seat cushion was easy accessible and 3rd latch needs to be connected from rear cargo area.

Now my kiddo is big so using booster seat but I have used a tie down strap to the car seat latches for extra safety. The heating pad for the booster seat and heated blanket is connected to the rear 12v outlet but you can also use the outlets behind the front and passenger seats.

3rd row seat useage is questionable for an adult. The cargo area when the 3rd row is up is a joke. Nowhere compared to a Pilot when 3rd row seat is up, Pilot has far more space behind 3rd row. Here's my video about the 3rd row seat (I'm not a pro Youtuber, did it just to share my experience). However I discourage you to trade in your Passport before your warranty expires. It would be more than enough for the travels with a baby. I'd say look at 4Runners after 3yr / 36K miles if you get any troubles else you will loose lot of money if you trade in now especially having a good setup right from the dealer, I mean that's a really good setup.

BTW If you are looking for some mpg info I do have a mpg test video as well posted about a week ago on my TRD Offroad with lift, bigger tires, blah blah blah.. LoL

    Monochrome everything. LED reverse lights.
seems like apples vs oranges to me. I have no doubt the pilot is a decent mall crawler but if you really plan on being off road the 4runner is necessary.
