    To be determined
Tree work must cost a whole
Lot there than it does here.
Around here that tree would’ve been cut and hauled off for half that. They would pull up a bucket truck and another woth an dumpster and articulating claw that would pic it all up

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
I had a decent size dead tree that I needed taken down right next to the house.
Living in rural Missouri, I went and asked my friend, that owned the local gun shop, at the time for a name of tree service.
There's 2 prices here - the "out of towner" price and the local price. I really didn't want to pay the out of towner price since I didn't grow up here.

Well I called the guy and mentioned that the owner of the gun shop gave me his name. He came over looked that the tree and said it would be $200 to take it down. He'd take the limbs with him and leave the trunk cut into firewood lengths. I thought that was a fantastic price and agreed. He had it down and cut up the following day. He didn't remove the stump but cut it so it was below the grade of the lawn.

Next time I saw my friend, I told him what a great deal I got. Figure, back in suburban Illinois where I grew up - this would easily cost $3000 or more.
My buddy was like - you must've gotten the out of towner price!!!

myself. unless I personally know the person in question, and have worked with him before, I never, ever, PAY up Front. I've seen too many cases of willie and the hand jive...i.e. pay up front, and boogie out of town...go to court. good luck

Ya, this guy was slick. I will do that one and that one, be “be back tomorrow”, “be back next week” then it was “I’m on another job” or “my wife bought a horse at the auction”...,.
I still wish him a Merry Christmas I think he is in prison/rehab.

Tree work for me is in two widely separated categories....I can either do it myself for nothing,or I pay a pro (an actual insured, bonded professional) if the tree is huge or close to the house. Pretty expensive up front but the projects don't get drug out and I know if they smash something, it gets fixed properly.
