Looks like I am going with the FOX 2.5 factory race series coil overs.

Initially my plan was to go with the units that DO NOT have the external reservoir. However, those are next to impossible to find. Having said that, for a few hundred $'s more, I can get the units with the external reservoir. It will require some additional work to get them mounted.

Having said all that, what is the advantage or disadvantage of one version over the other. I really don't understand.

    Thanks

External reservoir has increased fluid capactity, to help with cooling, so is claimed. The idea behind it is for high speed non stop wheeling, specifically desert style, to keep em cool and not fade. That's in simple terms. I ran kings with this setup on my tundra, and nonstop dirt and sand for good durations in rough terrain, and barely warm...so unless you do the desert racing, it's not necessary.

    In a nutshell...longevity
Resi allows fluid to remain cool for a longer period of time

Thanks. High desert in Oregon won't see me butv2 or 3 times a year. Rocky roads and washboards more frequent.

So is the extra 100.00 worth it to get them now?

It certainly doesn't hurt for 100 bucks.

Fox 2.0’s don’t have external reservoir.
