    Hey I’m planning on getting a 4th Gen 4Runner and I just want as much input from all of you on what is more worth it, a V8 or V6 version, any and all information will help me, newbie here thanks !

    V8 all the way. I wish they still offered it in the 5th gens.

    Welcome from Wisconsin! If I were shopping for a 4th Gen., I'd go for the V-8, because of what I have learned listening to the comment about them on the forum. They seemed to have more power, they were very reliable and there are lots of parts built for them.

    Early Tundra 4.7 It made a million miles in one truck Mileage between the V6 and V8 Isn't that much considering how much more power you have

    Probably one of the most grumbled about things is the lack of power with the V6 while driving this brick.

    RSG sliders, Yakima offgrid basket, Pro-Comp wheels, SOS Streamline bumper and skids, Warn VR EVO10S winch + Ultimate Sidewinder, Bilstein 6112 + 5100 + rear lift coils, Rigid Dually SS ditch lights w/Caliraised brackets and OEM style dash switch
    The only negatives with the V8 are the leaky exhaust manifolds and timing belt maintenance. My '03 was getting 17 MPG combined and had torque up the ass!

    The V6 is just as reliable. It just doesn't have as much torque. If you don't need the extra power, it's just as good.
