    That front end and interior reminds me of our 1987 Corolla wagon.
    This is a pic of our 1987 Corolla wagon, 1.3L 4cyl carburetor 4 speed manual transmission, not 4wd though. My dad still take best care of it even though its not driven often.

    Yes sir. RWD & KE72 inline 4cyl carb engine. I only know its 4K but not sure whether its 4K-C or different.

    Yes. 4K-C would be carbureted.

    Same motor as the Starlet, KP61, another cool car the US lost. They were RWD and weighed about nothing, so 200 HP would run about 12 second quarter miles!

    I THINK the late 80's Corolla hatch might have shared a later Starlet platform, though. We didn't get a turbo, but the FX16 had the MR2's 4a-ge and 5 speed manual. My brother had one. Total pocket-rocket in it's day. Something like 110 HP, 7800 RPM's, and about 2K LBS soaking wet. :D

    Back when the SR5 was the top of the line trim with solid axles and a manual transmission only

    That sucks, I will get heart attack seeing this to mine.. One time I saw a 1992 Corolla wagon here in Denver CO that looked like this pic from Google, same color. But the owner wasn't happy to talk to me. (Yeah I'm a car nut like to talk to owners when I see a classic.)

    My parents had an '83 Tercel...a 2-door hatchback. I was 13. It was miserable riding in the back. :D

    So, my Dad's '82 Corolla hatchback was like luxury by comparison! :rofl:

    I still can't imagine how he towed a boat, wife, and 3 kids to Castle Rock lake with camping gear every year in that thing! Nowadays, you rarely see anyone towing with a compact car.
