I recently changed out the shock on the front passenger side because it was blown and after I installed it, I was looking at the front driver side and realized it's missing the top cushion/washer that sits on top of the mount (see uploaded image. Red circle is missing cushion/washer and green circle has the cushion/washer).

I have the replacement parts coming in tomorrow, so my question is can I just take off the top nut and drop in the cushion/washer or do I need to completely remove/disassemble the strut? My main concern is the spring popping out and causing harm, but since I would be doing this with the vehicle on the ground, that should keep the strut in, right?

    Thanks in advance!
