Hey all, just wondering if anyone's had any experience with the SC Adventure Route and/or know of any must-see spots or campsites?

My buddy (5th gen brethren) and I are taking 5 days to explore the North Loop next month.

Any and all insight is welcome!

Never heard of it, but I'm guessing this trip has already happened?

Any pics or spots that you recommend?

I'll try to upload some pics soon, but this site has a lot of good info about waypoints and GPX files of the route. We only did the northern half loop, and plan to do the southern loop in the future. Tons of fun, best to use with Gaia USFS overlay.

ABSOLUTELY doable in a stock 4x4 (I see you have a taco) and there are even some harder detours available.

    Awesome!

Yeah, most people think that you have to have something lifted on massive tires, but don't realize how capable these vehicles are in their stock configuration. I had a 2014 Trail Edition that we drove all over the country (WY, CO, NM, KS, NE, TX, LA, MS, AL, FL, GA, NC, TN, AR) and hit several trails all on the original suspension. We had sliders that looked new when we took them off and some all-terrain tires instead of the OE Bridgestones. I was amazed at some of the scenarios that we escaped without any damage.

Trails like this seem to be more focused on the sights rather than the technical aspect of the trails. Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to your pics!

Definitely check out Table Rock (4th photo) if you get the chance, and make plenty of stops for fresh peaches.

It rained HARD everyday we were out there for at least an hour or so, making some of the trails a lot of fun. Definitely not a ton of scenery, but some of the unmaintained roads were as technical as some of the actual trails.

Sorry for the delay on these!

The next trail route I'm eyeing is the High Water Mark Trail thru the Ozarks in AR. Looks like a blast.

Yep. It's what got me to join them on the second one.

Members on that forum can be a bit...brash, but are generally pretty welcoming. I've found it to be a smaller community and they are all really good folks once you get to know them. I bet if you were to join, you could get them to start planning another. Heck, they've already been talking about when they can go again.
