    6 inch lift header
Hi there im new to the forum and to the 4runner world. I picked up an 88 4runner and was told it has a 6 inch trail gear lift and an lc engineering cali smoggable header. Anyways it needs a new transmission my reverse is out and 5th gear makes some noise. Ive been looking up the tranny for my 4runner and come to find out theres like 4 or more types of the w56. Ive come to find out that i need w56b which is hard to find were im at. So im looking for some help i can get a w56c but not really sure if it will work. Comes with tcase as well but im not sure if i need to change my driveline? move my cross member? or anything else that i might have to do?

i would start looking on car part (http://www.car-part.com) for a replacement transmission just to make your life as easy as possible, eBay too. if all else fails looking into a swap you may need new driveshafts and to move the cross member/add a cross member

W56c uses a forward-shift transfer case. That means the tcase shifter is actually on the transmission. Other than the tcase shifter, it is the same as the W56b and will bolt up.
