I know there are a lot of threads on this...I have an 06...Purchased some spacers and took it to the tire shop where I bought my tores (Evans Tire) for install (I don't have na impact wrench) They said they can't even touch spacers, or vehicles with spacers on them., They said it would void the warranty on the tires, and once installed, they would no longer be able to even rotate and balance (...against the law here in CA).. So I called around..Discount Tire. America's Tire, Big O, and Pepe Boys all have said the same thing...So, I called over @ Off Road Warehouse (Where I had the Bilsteins installed) and they were like"Yeah..we sell spacers, but we don't recommend putting them on....stresses out all of yoru other componenets..Just buy new wheels with a zero offset..no issues.." But, I have 18's (06 limited wheels), and already purchased the 18" tires (annot exchange)..so...I guess I have to plunk down another $700 for new wheels? Uggg...all so my wheels will stick out an inch or so...thoughts? I don't do ANY offroading....

I think the installing the spacers carries too much liability maybe? They have to be checked often, and yes it adds stress and an extra piece that can break somewhere you don’t want it to. Are your tires already on? You should be able to return them within a certain timeframe.

I have spider trax on all four, discount told me differently as far as rotating. I haven’t heard of any issues with spider trax as long as you install them correctly of course. If your in SD area, Miramar truck rotated mine with spacers.

Maybe invest in a floor jack and 4 jack stands instead. You could rotate the tires yourself and it will be cheaper then new wheels.

I'm going to get the spyder trax (..I think they offer them in black now?). you've inspired me! The rotaion I can do myself, but I'm pretty particular when it comes to balancing (..which I do every rotationhy offer. them n black) .I will reach out to Miramar truck.. I can't believe how much 1.25" makes as far as the look/stance..Did you install them yourself? Other than changing a tire, I've never used a torque wrench...just not sure if installing spacers is the place to try it out for the firist time unsupervised lol... Thanks for the info everyone!

Spacers are extremely easy to install. You can do it. It's just turning a wrench.

Definitely use a torque wrench on them. That's important.

I think Spidertrax recommends using locktite on the bolts as well.

Just follow the instructions Spidertrax gives you.

People talk a lot of shit on spacers, but they are fine if installed correctly and checked from time to time. I just installed a set on mine.

I still don't understand the argument that they will increase wheel bearing wear, but lower offset wheels are ok?? Seems like it would be the same difference to me.

That's what I thought as well...I'm only going 1.25"..99% pavement driving...I'm sure I'll be fine. Thanks!

Yes they do come in black, that’s what I got...I did the install, it’s very easy but, you do need a torque wrench. Star pattern and do maybe half the final torque all the way around and then again star pattern at final torque (I did mine in 3 steps, but I was also weary about spacers at first)..and yes you use locktite, it comes with it.
Also make sure the mating surfaces are clean, I used a wire brush to clean off surface rust....but, that’s just me
