Question, I just bought an 02 Runner and wanting to get it lifted. I like the bilstein lift kit (I dont really offroad just camping and like the look] body shop quoted to me $3500 to get it all done with shocks and whatnot.

    Seems high, but idk. Thoughts?

    Location is Denver.

Yikes, that’s crazy expensive. What bilsteins? 5100’s or 6112/5160 combo? Any UCA’s?
I’d suggest buying your own parts through a different vendor and just having them install it.

Yeah that’s crazy expensive, most that should run you is maybe $1500. UCA is upper control arm, which is something to consider if you’re going bigger than 2” in the front. They generally run about $500-$700. Check out my build thread, my lift with installation ran me about $1800. I know it’s a 5th Gen and you have a 3rd but same idea and components generally.

    Waaaaaaayyyyy to high.

Just for fun, ask that shop to give you a break-down of their pricing. Maybe their labor rate is crazy expensive or the number of hours they estimate to complete the job is well over what it should be.

The 5100's alone should cost you $400 or so. The labor should take half a day or less for a professional.

*if they're adding coils to the mix, that will increase the cost by another $400 or so.
