    Hey Forum Team,

I went to Lake City, CO this summer with the family and caught the off-road bug while hiking a few of the 4X4 trails and seeing the T4R's, FJ's Tacos, and Jeeps crushing up the hill. I have a Lexus RX350 FSport and off-road adventures in it are limited to graded gravel. I have a couple young kids that are old enough now to enjoy outdoor adventures and I wanted something that would take me a bit farther in the dirt and the snow. The Lexus was amazing, and I'm going to miss the creature comforts, but the T4R is the right vehicle for my family moving forward. I looked at the GX, but wanted something a bit more rugged that didn't need as much modification out of the gate to make it truly trail ready.

Thanks for all of the helpful threads and posts that helped me decide on my 2021 ORP w/ KDSS. I am a planning and detail nut, so the forum really helped me decide what model was best for me. Especially with the KDSS...never thought I'd spend 10+ hours researching a hydraulic linked swaybar system, but I did. Massive thanks to @4X4Runner for the concise and detailed responses here! I wanted the on-road handling and am not planning on lifting more than 2-3 inches, so KDSS was the way to go for me.

I've got a few mods in motion including pro grille swap, a vinyl wrap in matte army green, RSG sliders, wheels and tires (still undecided on tires), and weathertech liners. There are so many other dream mods including a rack, tent, and some other camping centric goodies that will need a few months to prep for. It's amazing how much money you can spend on a T4R...

    See you on the trails!

Here's a couple pics of my baby when I picked her up last week.

Worked through my first mod last night...Pro Grille and Garnish swap. OEM parts, turned out nice. Needed to get this done prior to the wrap as I'll be wrapping the garnish for protection.

Yes, these things are money pits! But, with decent tires and some basic recovery gear, it will take you pretty much anywhere.

Thanks! Sent my son to Lambo last year to see a Packers game with friends, but still haven't been to WI myself. Someday...
Thanks! I like it better without the shiny accents.

Thanks, bro. Your feedback in the KDSS threads was helpful as well. Going "pretty much anywhere" is exactly the goal!

Congratulations on the new ride! Did you install the new grill yourself? How bad was that? I was thinking the same idea of getting an ORP or Venture and but most dealers won't put in a grill like that--ugh. If I got a Venture I was thinking that and removing the basket. Can you put up some more pics with the new grill and whole body sometime; it was looking sweet! How are you liking the KDSS by the way? I have just been reading about it like you.

Thanks! I like the black, but really wanted army green so I'm going to wrap it army green as soon as the shop can get me in. Toyota is so strange about the colors available in each trim...I don't get it.

Thank you DW. Looking forward to it getting us up to the slopes and onto the trails!

I did install the grill myself, it wasn't bad at all once I got the right parts. Initially I bought PZ323-35056 (garnish) and PZ327-35053 (grille radiator upper) and realized that the grille upper didn't fit correctly. The molding and mounts were different. Once I figured out that I needed PZ323-35058 and PZ327-35056 I was off to the races. Getting the upper grill off the vehicle was the most challenging part, and honestly I was probably more careful than I needed to be not wanting to damage my brand new grill. There are several good youtube videos out there but I didn't see any that are 2020 and newer so just be aware that the parts have changed if you get a 2020 or 2021. I'll get a pic up later today.

Thanks, got a bunch of peoples in FL, will have to get the T4R down there sometime for some off road action!
