    Thinking about swapping out the suspension on my 2021 TRD off road KDSS with that of a 2020 or 2021 TRD PRO. There are a couple people selling their TRD PRO suspension in my area and it got me thinking....

    It seems pretty straight forward (I think).

    One of my concerns is the KDSS setup. As far as I know the PRO does not have it and I don’t know if the KDSS will function as intended with the TRD tuned PRO suspension installed on my TRD off road.

    Additionally, not sure if I also need to swap out the rear coils with that of the PRO or if they are the same part number as the off road.

    Has anyone done this here? Anything else to lookout for?

    You can swap it, the KDSS won't interfere with that suspension. Don't bother with rear coils, they are the same.

    @fajitas21 nailed it.

    You will now have a setup superior to a PRO.

    One add, if you add the Eibach coils for the Pro to the Fox Pro Suspension, you can also get a lift too. Then you'd have Pro suspension, KDSS, and a lift. Honestly, that's an end game setup that you won't need to fiddle with.

    However, if you lift the front above the Pro setup, you'll need to lift the rear too to maintain positive rake or level. Not a big deal.

    Correct, the Eibach springs come with a new set front and rear, so they account for that.

    Thanks for all the info guys greatly appreciated.

    For the time being I’m going to hold off on swapping out the coils. I was hoping to just do a simple, cost effective suspension upgrade.

    With that in mind I’m a little apprehensive in doing this mod after reading the above thread....

    Sounds like this KDSS is a little bit of a wild card and I might end up getting into a situation where my 4R is leaning to one side.

    The guy in the above mentioned thread did this mod to his 2016 Trail with KDSS and installed Bilstene 160 serial number Pro Suspension and ended up with his 4R leaning. He ended up swapping the front struts to help reduce the lean. At the end after numerous trips to the shop he ended up picking up a ToyTec spring seats, 1/4 top spacers as well as T-13 coils in the rear. Sounds like another guys did it and had no leaning issues....

    This is starting to sound like a little more of a “going down the rabbit hole” situation.

    I’m wondering has anyone here done this mod with the new 2.5 Fox suspension? If so did you install it as intended (drivers side strut on drivers side and passenger side strut on passenger side)? Did you end up with a leaning issue?

    I don’t want to run into a situation where I’m running back and forth to the shop wasting time and money. I kind of want this to be a plug and play situation.
