so I bought my runner preowned recently and the previous owner changed the tires and they look good but when you turn the wheel all the way it rubs on the front bumper.. just wondering if I should have it shaved down or if I did like a 3 inch lift if that would help? 8A8AB926-ACC9-4CC0-934E-E7EC0AE75105_1_201_a.jpg FACD510D-B9F8-42C3-9E8E-993496BABA01.jpg5BD47FAB-A871-4C3D-8531-9CDC769CA437.jpg

How much rubbing? A lot? Or minor? If it’s a minimal amount of just push the fender liner forward and maybe trim a little bit off the bumper. Cheapest route unless you’re thinking of a lift.

just a little bit of rubbing and only when its turned all the way .. im a little worried to let someone shave it and mess it up lol plus im kinda looking for an excuse to lift it BUT its expensive and not really needed I guess

mostly when reversing but my wife drives it sometimes and apparently doesn't know how to reverse with a bigger car so she just turns the wheel all the way and lets it rub... it hurts my soul

You can shave some of the bumper with a cheap harbor freight dremel. Just create a line with some masking tape!

Shave. It looks pretty close to 3" lift already I don't think that will solve the problem.

Just blue tape your cut line and make sure both sides look even and cut away. Did mine myself and kicking my self for not doing it earlier.

Maybe it just looks like a lot of gap in the front.

Something is off - those wheel gaps make no sense for a stock suspension.

Also that passenger wheel liner is already torn up pretty badly.

Marked mine with tape. Lightly scored with razor knife, then cut with razor..pretty easy

What size tires are they? Any chance you’re running wheel adapters?

    SHAVE!

Looks lifted already. Bumper cut is cheap and easy.

It looks like leveling kit. All you have to do is push front fender about 1" and make new hole to secure. then trim/shave front bumper bottom section about same so it will clear. just need drill and knife.

You need to do the fender liner mod. A lift won't help you.

Looks like someone else has already cut up the fender liner in spots trying to alleviate the rub, but they didn't do it correctly.

This should walk you through it. It's super easy. Instead of using a dremmel to trim the fender slightly, I used a box cutter. You also don't need any pry tools like the article says.

Had to cut the bumper on mine too after getting the tires installed last Friday. Took 5 mins. Not a big deal. IMG_20201019_220521630.jpg

honestly im not even sure everyone tells me it looks lifted but then someone else said its not the TRD is just higher then most 4runners so I mean idk im pretty clueless when it comes to cars which is why im hesitant taking it somewhere and they see how clueless I am and start telling me I need to do all this expensive unnecessary stuff to it lol

What model do you have? TRD PRO, TRD OFFROAD, or TRD Offroad Premium. And what size are the tires?

    All of them.
Shave the front. Practically free. I used and angle grinder and took maybe 30 seconds a side. I didn’t cut I literally put the side of the disc. Against the bumper and let it shave off keeping the angle grinder moving the whole time back and forth to follow the body lines. Climbing underneath after I was done and used my razor sharp knife to clean up any excess plastic and you honestly can’t tell except there’s no paint on the very edge of that section. Which my truck is black anyways so you’d really be looking to see it.

Unless they spent money to put seat covers on leather I'm guessing its a TRD OR. 100% not a Pro look at the front end so it doesn't have the extra height stock.

Looks like a hood scoop hard to tell.

And looking again it has some sort of lift for sure prolly a small spacer.

Looks like you have Bilstein 5100s with a slight lift and tires that are 1 size bigger than stock.

All good. Now you just need to do that fender liner mod.

    It is adjustable.

There are settings for the following amount of lift: 0", 0.85", 1.75", 2.5".

Just a guess, but you might be at the 1.75" mark with yours.
